This randomly popped in my feed as I was about to head off so erm while I listen to this here is a fun historic fun fact: in 1989 a pilot was conducting a routine training flight in a MiG-23 in Poland. During takeoff, the afterburner for the plane failed, and the pilot deeming the situation to be unsalvageable and ejected from the plane. HOWEVER the MiG-23 stabilized itself WITH NO PILOT and then proceeded to head straight towards East Germany, then crossing into West Germany airspace which triggered a NATO reaction. After it was determined that the plane was unpiloted, the German planned to shoot it down, but due to fear of debris hitting nearby houses it was left alone. Well that plane would go on to cross into Belgium, run out of fuel, and crash specifically into some random dudes house that just finished his University exams. His entire family was not home and he was left as the only casualty of the entire incident. That plane travelled over 900km and crossed through 4 countries to get to that house and crash into that guy. Remember: the chances of a military jet plane colliding with you directly are low, but never zero.
