I tore my ACL twice in the span of 2 years, couldn't play contact for 2.5 and came back better than I was before. I've never really understood why but your videos really helped me get it. I basically studied the game. I watched all the basketball I could, and even just playing mycareer on 2k and trying to get assists I got better at understanding the flow of the game and the natural movement of the players, which made everything slow down. Love your videos man, keep up the amazing work

I got them all right but watching it in film and doing this in game is just on a whole different level. He’s passes and court vision are elite.

Great stuff, especially the point about reading all players' momentum, which comes with time. Two other things I like to think about are related to defender manipulation. Neither get you highlights or assists, but create big downstream advantages after the next pass or move: -Throwing "average" passes in situations where defenders are not attentive can generate strange defensive decisions, especially in semi transition, where lots of guys fall asleep. -Throwing "lazy" passes to players that are open - defenders get excited and think they've tricked you into giving them an easy steal, and rather than closing out and keeping good position, lunge at a pass, forcing panicked rotations. For what it's worth I only play pickup, so polished players probably fall for this stuff a little less, but you'd be surprised, especially if you can sell it. Always read everyone for opportunities.

Used to idolize Steve Nash because i've always had really good passing talent, but never had the ball handling skills to be the true PG. So when I was young and athletic, i actually played more like Ginobli, attacking and slashing while also being a good passer. Got back into ball now, but serious injuries and age and im nowhere near as explosive and im so much slower, but thanks to RU-vid, and channels like this one, im actually developing far better ball handling skills and am actually becoming a true point guard, and right now, Teodosic is my role model. Love this video so much.

As they say, elite basketball players read help defense the best. Pretty much everybody in the top leagues can create advantages against one defender but the elite can take their initial defender out of the play then either react to or manipulate the help defenders to facilitate scoring or passing. High IQ players really make the game a work of art.

A lot of these passes are super obvious to me, maybe cuz I played in Europe. I was taught to read the back line/read the help. I'm looking at the help defender's eyes (if he's looking at me, his man has a cut), looking at his positioning (typically look at the front jersey number.....if I can see that clearly, then he's fully defending his man). It's the same little tricks I used to beat defenders 1v1 (e.g. I see space under the front of the defender's sneakers, means he's not on his toes.....quick burst and I'm gone)

Can you talk about passing as a whole. Passing is underrated subject in basketball. I would love a more in depth detail video on passing just as a whole 💯

I got them right but some of the passes are easy to see but it takes skill and timing to get the ball to the person with angles and timing. Those were elite passes

Yo as guard one of the things i struggle with most is that i’m super efficient and comfortable playing off the ball, but when people start trusting me and putting the ball in my hands off the rip i kinda freeze at the top of the key and i don’t really know what to do.
