customer service at Sol-Ark is the best. I bought another hybrid inverter (sungoldpower) and their customer service SUCKED. So I purchased a SOL-ARk and I'm very happy now. Spend the extra money you will not be sorry.

What would be the benefit of this over the classic sol ark 5k? Seems like it’s nearly the same except all 120v output instead of 120/240. Other things I’m missing?

Thanks, great video I installed a 5k Sol-Ark for a client just recently for his shed, he wanted something to run a few loads, off set his energy consumption and have backup it he needs to. Great system looking forward to installing a few more in the future

I will be getting one to keep my computer room supplied with solar power but to also have a really good backup supply for the bad weather...we get hurricanes here a lot. With several servers plus a butt-load of PC's, laptops, slates, tablets & phones...and cooling (window AC) I need a reliable system...with a cost savings against the electrical use. As mentioned before I will need a maximum of 30A of 120VAC...though I have never actually hit the max (hit ~25A once) I want it to be there if I ever do need it. Hopefully these will be the ticket :)

I fully understand this is a "Test" from Sol-Ark.. - Cyber security person here. Advise to give. Dont show any of that wifi dongle with that information. Had you been literally about 2 mm close i would have gotten a good scan on that QR-Code. All the information including the Key was included in the shot. Just a friendly reminder, mean no harm by it. Just trying to do my part in keeping people cyber-wise. Especially since you are such a great proponent of education on these systems. I would switch to a verbal only, no show-n-tell on the actual dongle or QR-code closeups. Power grids (small or large) are among the highest valued targets of threat actors for disruptions. As always, great product. Look forward to future videos.

Nice video, I'm working on a system based around one of these. Couple things aren't clear from the manual, maybe you can help. Did you install an external fuse or breaker for the batteries? The manual says it has a 250 amp breaker/disconnect but then in their wiring diagram the show what looks like an external breaker. Also what about breakers for the PV array? Did you install any? I only noticed the breakers for your AC side.

I would love to hear more about using the modbus for external control and monitoring.

Spec says 10k watts for ten seconds, can't wait for someone to actually verify with a controlled test!

It could be a very good unit for campers, the only problem I can think of is where to mount it? I assume for ventilation it needs to be mounted vertically...

Sounds like a great little inverter to add five or 10kW of solar to two different outbuildings, balanced on the grid connection making functional building also lower the grid demand of the whole property.

Don't know what you have been working with, but I would put my Victron Multi-Plus up against it anytime... you can get two 3000 watt Multi's and configure them for single or split phase... for less money. Don't know much about Sol-Ark... I hear they are great. But Victron makes solid stuff as well.

I see so many using lithium and wondering why Ni-Fe is not used more? Much better for the environment and virtually indestructible.

I think the price would be justify if it can passthru 120/240 and if it can parallel with another 5k to get 120/240. This features are already available with Victron. Otherwise no, the inverter has no cost benefit in comparison with other offerings on the market.

Think it would be a good backup for a grid loss. Right now I just have a Sungold inverter and a EG4 battery as a backup to power a frig, freezer, some lights, and a gas furnace. I have a 14kw diesel generator for house when needed, but the EG4 battery is a quiet night time power to run freezer, frig and furnace without running the generator. Like to add some solar to make it all work.

Is this video (Sol-Ark asked you to do) is reaction to recent testings on other channels showing that these (SA) inverters sucked badly with reactive loads which is real-world rather than people who test with largely resistive loads?

Could you use this inverter in an RV as an alternative to the Victron Multiplus II with all it's components?

Can that new 5k be wired to the main panel so the homes loads can use grid power and inverter power at the same time if loads exceed the output capacity of the 5k?

I believe that integrated push button on the load-out of the inverter is a breaker that provide over current protection. Is it 50A rated?

Have you checked the power factor on your 120vac mini-split A/C?

If it's putting out 45A @ overload + 50A grid, can it do 95A total?

IMO- IF the 5k was 12v batteriy compatible it would be a SOLID solution for an RV upgrade. However, almost EVERYTHING in an RV thats DC (lights, stereo, fans, heater blower, etc.) are all tied to the 12v HOUSE battery bank. Its inadvisable to move those items to the start batteries. Sure you could use this and a step-down DC to DC transformer, or you could avoid that additional appliance and its associated costs by using a VE Multiplus II, which does use 12v HOUSE batteries. Sol-Ark needs to make this 5k in a 12v battery configuration and THEN it would be an option in an RV, boat, etc.

You are 100% correct🎉. Bought a couple of EG4 6500 exes for my shop. I'll let you know how I like them compared to my 2 ea 12 k's. I did shut the 12k's down the other day by running my Dewalt circular saw. You wouldn't happen to know what caused that would you? It started fine on the EG4's, my Tripplite 2000W hostpital backup power supply and a cheap Edecoa 3000W inverter.

Hello, I just got a 15k (on the way here) and am considering batteries. Have you hooked a Sol-Ark to your EG4 batteries? Do you do that without communications? If so, have you had any issues with that?
