One thing i learned a long time ago. Chromes, silvers and transitioning paints always look better on gloss dark colors, black being the best.

Born Paint also has one of these, but it's part of their limited edition lineup and thus even harder to get a hold of than their normal stuff.

Fantastic video, really nice results. I absolutely love the Green Stuff World Chrome and Gold, it's ready to shoot right out of the bottles with no need to thin and they clean out of the airbrush really easy. The effect has more to do with how glossy your base is rather than its color. If you use your 2k gloss as a base over any of those colors, it will make that effect really pop.

Another excellent video! My swallowtail came last night and boy does it feel good in my hand. I’m going to give it a spin tomorrow and prime a few larger pieces I have but I expect great things from it. Just waiting for my fan tip and stand to ship out!

Monday Dec 4th. Hi Robert,Just received my trigger airbrush,just looking at it I was wowed,hooked it up and just ran water through it and it’s heaven,it feels great in you hand and it works great,I also like the fact that that caps on the cups are not plastic and that thay stay put.will be buying the fan cap for it.

i use the SMS prismatic for beam effect, usually going heavier at the base and feathering out away from the source

Thanks for the Vid. Looking forward to the Vallejo Primer test. I love the Vallejo paints, but like you I am not a big fan of their primers. For acrylic primers, I like Stynylrez (but I found that staining them through a micron mess improved their use tremendously). Question: Of all the chome paints you've tested so far, has any beat AlClad II yet? What about top coats for chrome? Thanks and have a great day.

Thanks for sharing and testing so many of these custom paints. Over the years I have been experimenting with different chrome paints, Spray On Chrome chemicals and Electroless Nickel for Mirror like appearance. I've been developing a Brush On Chrome system(Base coat, Clear, Chrome) for a while now, I was finally able to complete the kit, it's called EZKrome and it's brushable, Dippable and sprayable. Perhaps one day you would like to test it.

I think I’m going to use that GSW Holographic on the USS Enterprise Refit warp flux chiller grills to give it that awesome spectrum warping effect from TMP.

It seems that the thinner the better, the more you Applied the less the effect. At least on video the effect could be seen and then it turned to the color in the bottle. Thanks for test, I will be trying extreme thinning like on the chrome paint hack.

It's an interesting effect. If you can't put a top coat on it, did it seem like a strong, scratch-resistant coating? Or would it be damaged if the model gets bumped and falls over?

The GSW results look exactly like Alclad's holomatic spectral chrome if anyone wants to know. I tried it on gloss 2k black and over Alclad Chrome. Note: NEVER use heavy coats unless you want light grey spectral look. It looks terrible, though - don't do it. Rex...thanks for doing gold and gold chrome. I haven't tried that yet and was wondering.

@@AlienArteStoreMX You can, and it has a chrome mirror look to it but remember to keep your holomatic spectral chrome a light coat like Rex does in this video.
