I only have one other back sealer to compare this to, ru-vid.comUgkxLarn2Zt7095D2lp3tN-bj5JtYPg3Wz2 but it appears to be a great sub-$100, non-chamber, vac sealer (I got it on sale on Amazon a few weeks ago). It's not the fastest, but it's not a race when you're back sealing, right? I haven't done any marinading yet, but for storage of veggies and other perishables and for sous vide, it's great. The built-in bag roll storage and cutter (manual cutter) are great, it's super easy to use, and the double-seal feature is fantastic. Would highly recommended especially if you don't have the budget (or counter space) for a chamber vac.
You did a good review. I bought the Freshpack Pro Easy Automatic Vacuum Food Machine, 6 mo ago at wish. $35 I use it every week to package each shows items when I get them from the store. Then, To do a show. (I pull the bag. It is numbered for the show) so I use it a lot works well. It is sold out at Amazon, just checked.
Ah, looks aren't what we need. True functionality and reasonably priced. Please remember that in your next tests. Also, closure is a huge deal to those that have problems with their hands like arthritis. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for making me laugh! I got the Nutrichef and I couldn't figure out why it was such a Pyle! LOL! It's being returned. I wish I would've watched this first.
Yeah I like the first one & the last one but a lot of people is having problem with the (food savers) I've been reading a lot of reviews the last 2 weeks
I wish I did. My Nutrichef will not lock in place. I've tried a light touch to practically putting all of my body weight on it. It sealed some food items only if I pressed down on it with all my might. Bad purchase.
Would think the power of the machine mechanism/build quality, how tight the sealing is on food inside, how well it holds its seal, and how long the unit lasts would be of greatest importance. Then its features. WORST is thinking food is sealed and it is not.
I have an older Food Saver that works fine but I bought a second one more recently as a spare. The new design is awkward and seems to be designed to use more plastic bag material (just what we need - more plastic waste). The new design is cocked forward making it difficult or impossible to minimize the length of bag material on the vacuum side. And they’ve reversed the heat strip and the cutting slot making it difficult to gauge how much plastic bag material you need. Both changes seem to be for the sole purpose of using more plastic bag material. It vacuums fine but I don’t appreciate the company trying to gouge more $ out of me. So, I buy cheap knockoff bag material and Food Saver isn’t getting any benefit from me buying their poorly designed machine. Next time I need a vacuum system I will try all other brands before buying another Food Saver.
I havent bought a newer one but my old one is conking out and from the looks this was totally one of the things I thought of. On the old one I sometimes used the roll and split vertically to get two smaller bags and try to minimize waste. Good to know I am not the only one looking at issues like this.
The Pyle Nutrichef took *FOREVER* to seal!!! I've had only Foodsaver vacuum sealers and I've been happy with those. The last one I got was a Nutrichef by Pyle but not that exact one you have there. It's too noisy like that one you have there and it also takes too long to seal. I think I'm going to return my Nutrichef and go back to Foodsaver. I'll have to check which Foodsaver is more affordable for me though. That's one of the reasons I got that cheaper Nutrichef one. I figured it's just a vacuum sealer, how bad could it be? But I'm returning it and getting a Foodsaver again.
The test for quality is how long it lasts. Most of them do the job right out of the box, but none of them are as durable as they should be and FoodSaver is way over priced considering they MIGHT last two years.
Thank you for the review! It looked to me like the Cosori has not only a cutter but, it would take larger bags! The FS (last one) looks like it only takes smaller bags.
Even the more expensive ones reviewed on Amazon have problems. I'd be more than willing to pony up more $$$ for better quality, but even they seem to have lots of problems.
Just purchased the FoodSaver VS1120 for $80.00 at Target. Brought it home, opened the box and there was no electrical cord or bags or bag roll. Very disappointed.
I have a Sunglife brand which is a piece of junk and I am looking for another brand and have determined which brand I am going to get and it isn't any of the brands you tested.
I was given a nutrichef as a gift - I've noticed it's not sealing 100% - but I will try pressing on it, not liking the seal at all - but, can't return nor exchange so, I'll try pressing.
what about the replacement parts ie. the rubber rings/strips...(where the sealing took place), can we buy it when it wears out. If not, is that means that we have to throw them out?!!? thank u.
Thank you for showing these 4. I love the cutter on the Consari, but I love the look and mega seal on the 2nd Foodsaver you used at the end. I also like the black and silver look. It looks small and space saving. I think I like the one sealer the best. I thought I needed the latest Foodsaver with the attachment already on it. I'd rather spend less on a regular model and get the little attachment. Walmart has that model with the attachment on it for $149 and I'm said yikes. I'd rather spend $50-$100. Really appreciate your video. Big thumbs up from me.
I have 2 food savers and both are awful. The blades stop cutting the bag. One heating element doesn't heat up anymore to seal the bags. One doesn't vacuum anymore. I have to cut the bags by hand and cobble the two together to get one functioning machine. They are garbage and maybe last for a couple hundred bags each before conking out. I'm looking for a higher quality brand.
What if you have one of the rolls of plastic that they are sold with on Amazon. I was wondering how do you seal both ends without having to do the suction?
Forever used less bag material to use. Who cares about "boring" , it's a kitchen item. You must have gotten "something"for your view! The bag material is expensive and foodsaver used less. $$$$$ come on !
