Fr, I was about to say that it might be good for my father who doesn't really like the top of the can... he says he doesn't like it (and he always wipe it religiously) because that's exactly where the germs would stick to... and if you've been to my country, you wouldn't question it. Have you really never compared drinking out of a can to drinking out of a glass? I always pour my beer from the can into a glass because it's better that way. Can't wrap my head around WHY you'd need to remove the can top...
@josef5636
@josef5636 3 года назад
A part of "fine" beer and other drinks is the smell, it's hard to smell and drink them out of a can opening. I know just pouring the drink into a normal glass solves the problem but I guess this product wanted to fix the issue of not having a glass near?
@hottuna2006
@hottuna2006 3 года назад
Up to 90% of our sense of taste is connected to our sense of smell. The more we can smell, the more we can taste. Removing the top from a can simulates drinking out of a glass, which is the best way to drink beer or any drink high in aromachemicals. So I understand the thinking behind the product but drinking out an aluminum can defeats the effort of trying to create a full flavor experience. The best way to appreciate a (good) beer is by drinking it out of a clean glass.

It DOES leave sharp edges and even metal shavings in the drink, so I'd never use it for it's intended purpise, but with a little sand paper it perfectly met the reason I got it (even if it's a slight pain, it's worth it since I plan to keep the cups for a long time).

Don’t you usually drink beer straight from the can to get drunk? If you want to pretend there’s art to it, that’s what glasses are for.
@maggpiprime954
@maggpiprime954 3 года назад
Heh. It doesn't make a difference whether you drink from a can, glass or bottle. Could argue that a glass gives a smoother, more direct flow with greater volume. But if you're just looking to get drunk really fast, beer's the wrong choice! Try one of those girly drinks. Or a Caesar. They pack a _lot_ of alcohol. One will equal about 2 beers. Or just do a couple shots.

maggPi Prime Well, I personally do straight vodka, but I can’t fathom why else anyone drinks besides to turn their brain off for a couple of hours. Lol

@@AROAH Straight vodka will definitely turn your brain off for a bit! As for drinking with goals other than temporary oblivion, I like certain whiskies, a cool g&t, and some ciders are nice. A good, hoppy beer will have citrusy flavor ranging from oranges to grapefruit. I don't like getting blackout drunk, it's the worst feeling I've had next to an accidental poisoning I once experienced.

A lot of the products you review seem like solutions in search of problems... but this takes it to the next level. First of all, I'm not sure I can buy into the initial premise of the whole "sniff and sip" enjoyment of beer. However, even if that's a thing, the whole "drop the top into the can" is just beyond silly. They clearly couldn't figure out a way around it, so they just said no, that's normal. You're supposed to do that. The whole thing just comes of as incredibly low-brow when the entire premise of the device is supposed to be high-brow. Reminds me of the pull-tab days when people would drop their tabs in their cans and then choke on them.

I love my draft top especially when drinking IPA's out of a can. Plus it's more of a "wow!" factor with people at parties rather than practicality. One thing I noticed is you did not try opening the cans while set against a surface until the wine. My personal experience is also holding from the top whilst also having the can against a table helps. Is it needed? Absolutely not. Do I regret buying mine? Absolutely not. Great video as always hope you're doing well!

I actually have one of these, and there's a little finesse to opening cans but it's actually pretty easy to get the top out and honestly, it's a much better experience. Plus the cans can be washed out and turn out to be really incredibly useful as little disposable cups or pencil holders or disposable beakers for whatever (Mixing paint!). I'm finding it hilarious how hard he's finding this because... well I *have* one and I have so very few problems! XD

@@United_Kangaroo1992 That's why I included "or something". Can openers for soups and vegetables have magnets on them to hold the lid so it doesn't drop into the can. This product could do something similar to keep the can top from going into the drink.

@KageNoTora74 3 года назад
Unless it's a bimetal can a magnet won't work. Soup cans, cans of vegetables etc. are steel, so magnets work with those. Few beer or soda cans are made of something other than aluminum with a plastic layer.

One of the primary functions of the top, is to keep stuff out of your beer that you don't want going into it. So, this device says, screw that, put all the crap/dust/dead bugs, and drop them right into your beer. Great idea. Can't wait to get that extra flavor and bacteria in my beer.

I have one of these and once you have the technique down it's very easy to use (and you don't need to squeeze as hard as James appeared to). It's a talking point at parties when you can bring out a can of cider with ice in the can (plus it'll same on washing up)! Also, you can make lots of safe 'hiding' places for cash, etc. I just treat it as a fun gadget that I use time-to-time and don't take it too seriously.

I see alot of people complaining about the top going into the drink. You could rotate it untill the top is all the way off and just pull it out by the tab. Or just rotate it enough so there's just a small bit left where you can just pull it out. You just make sure the opener is laying flat so each cutter isn't at different angles. Then there's people noting that you have to release the pressure but you don't as it's optional. I don't get why they had to make tutorial videos for it. It's has a top shaped hole and a squeeze grip. You'd figure most people could figure it out. I know this isn't really necessary as it's for people looking for convenience in not needing to use a cup while still having more drink flow.

Would be better that the handle had a hook to hook the pull tab and get the top out completely. i guess this device makes more sense then a regular can opener. Then again.... if you wanted a solution to this.... they should have invented something like the can openers for fruits and veggies that undo the seams on cans rather then (i guess it's) slicing the can. i don't know if that is possible for drinking cans though....

Tip#2 don’t try to put the fresh tops on a half drank can of pop because it’ll bend and you’ll get splashed and ruin your can - put it on a freshly opened can/drink that way it is more solid
