It almost looks like they forgot to turn on the processing for the webcam feed, or like it's HDR without proper tone mapping. Hopefully they improve it with an update, but I might just continue to use Droidcam for the few times I want another (quality) camera angle.

Is "clear calling" or something similar available as part of Android 14 to all phones?

Quality difference is very pronounced. It's hardly the quality of Phones direct video footage

And it wont be. Those are done after a lot of processing and not realtime. Even the screencpy one is hard on the phone. What would be interesting to see battery-drain/ cpu usage of these two approaches

I used scrcpy to mirror at 4K30 for 2 hours, and the battery on my Pixel 6 Pro only drained by 6% and the temperature reached a maximum of 37 degrees C. Hardly anything to worry about.

Is this a pixel only function? I just went through the hassle of updating my Xiaomi 12 pro to HyperOS to get android 14, but I still don't have the option

It's a function added in Android 14 QPR1 and requires OEMs to specifically implement it. So far only Google has done so.

Hi...Unfortunately I don't have this phone yet. I wanted to know if possible, does the phone's webcam also work if it is connected to an Android tablet? I have a 13 inch tablet without camera, Android version 12, I wanted to use it for video conferences or even live streaming on social media. It would be fantastic solution if it works on the tablet for example for live on tik tok, facebook etc. ,using phone google pixel as a webcam connected to a tablet.

I was so excited for this feature I had an old pixel 6 to use it with and for some reason the rear camera looks like dogwater and the front facing cam has so much more detail and clarity. Nothing like how it looks on my 8pro where the rear camera is way better than the front facing cam.

I have a pixel 7 and OBS does not recognize it as webcam. Windows camera app recognizes it though, so it's working, just not in OBS for me. Did not find a solution for as of now.
