the fact that the insanely expensive goop clothing just arrived in plastic bags straight from the warehouse boxes and without any nice packaging is soooo bad, not to mention the quality of the pants 😵💫
I would never spend that much on clothing !! I don’t see the point of spending that much money are clothing , when I go to a normal store I usually buy clothes on the clearance aisle !! I personally love going to thrift stores for my clothes I personally don’t like spending a lot of money on clothing!!
I seriously think these so-called high fashion brands are just trolling rich people. I mean, have you seen that skirt that looks like a bath towel from Balenciaga?
I checked the website as well and the pants are like 45% linen and 55% polyester?!?!? Why is it dry clean only? At least the top is 15% cashmere so it's sensitive but i really don't get the pants... Pricing is wtf as well
Mia's result may not have been the pastel pink she wanted but it gave SUCH a gorgeous and subtle rose gold tone to her blonde. Honestly girl, just drench your entire head with the stuff, you probably won't be able to overdo it and you'll look fantastic. I really dig it being a little more muted - yet still picking up that beautiful hue in the light - as a whole vibe for autumn, too.
I was thinking the same thing. I'd suggest colouring it all in that and then it would all be toned to that rose gold which would look amazing with her skin tone.
The pink definitely wasn’t dark enough for your hair but I think it actually toned your blonde in a really nice way. Almost like a rose gold shade. You should do your whole head!
If I’m paying almost $700 for pants they damn well better have a neat inside too.. that’s absolutely absurd how messy those seems and things are. They do look super cute on the outside, and that outfit looks adorable on you. Love that your doing this video, so often celebs just cash grab with their names on crap products. Mia, you are a gem to this world.
That's probably one of the reasons why it's dry clean only. For me in a lot of cases dry clean only indicates bad quality because they don't trust their seams or dyes. A lot of brands are using this as a tactic to avoid customer backlash, cause they can always say "We told you not to wash it"
at that price i would expect them to have an inside lining! or at least french seams. theres no explaination besides greed for those pants to have raw and visible surged seams
Tip for skincare products - if you dont want to break out like mia did, you need to slowly introduce products one by one and not just start using a bunch of new stuff all at once, it also makes it easier to figure out which ingredients/ products actually irritated your skin. Changing your skincare products suddenly on the dime is going to freak skin out. Try incorporating them one by one and give it a month before having an opinion about a skincare brand. And this is how you should treat all new skincare regardless of brand.
it’s also very normal for me ro break out when i try new skincare products, my friend who’s a skincare specialist said it’s the products bringing all the bad stuff out of your skin to the surface or something
This is true. I was horrified that Mia broke out but yeah what you says makes sense. Also Mia had pimples. So to try new skincare on pimples isn't good. My sister had acne and used another face wash than what she uses and God did she break out. It was terrible. The face wash was a normal one too. But didn't suit her. If I do too many steps or need to wash my face a lot than my skin isn't happy with me. I remember some face masks that I felt were burning me while my friend was ok. Skincare is subjective. That's why I never buy skincare for anyone.
Skincare is a scam ultimately. Acne is entirely genetic and all that crap is excessive. Wash, SPF, and MAYBE a moisturizer if you actually have dry skin. Anything more is excessive and a waste of money.
@@britneylouise1919Agreed! There is a difference between breaking out and your skin purging however most people see their skin purging and think they are breaking out. Hence why you need to give your skin ample time to adjust to the new product to be able to fairly formulate an opinion. Putting on 4 different face products and only using them for a week can hardly give anyone an accurate representation of if a product works or not.
Also, after introducing new products people might go through a purge which is little bumps and that goes away but I use and love rhode. I have really sensitive skin so her brand is exactly what I look for with ingredients and formulation.
Two tips regarding hair colour if you want to delve into that more from someone who dies their own hair a lot: 1) Pastel colours are notoriusly difficult. I do not recommend doing trying to do that on your own especially not as a beginner. For proper, pure pastels you basically have to be platinum blonde to begin with. 2) A possibly more useful tip, if you are afraid of getting dye all over your ears, neck, forehead etc. is to use a generous amount of body lotion on those areas right before you begin. The fattier the lotion the better. Alternatively you can use vaseline/petroleum jelly, but I vastly prefer body lotion
I find on me that vaseline works a lot better, but I hate the feeling of it so I often just deal with the slightly stained skin. I'll have to try some different lotion next time
This. I've bought from small shops that have invested in nice packaging and for all that cash, you get basic box, non-plant based plastic bags?? No nice paper, no design?
I worked in the clothes department in Tesco and every single item of clothing arrived in a plastic bag like that, which I had to rip off before everything went into storage or onto the shop floor. Those trousers were literally just more fast fashion but at a higher price and somehow even less quality.
I’m a firm believer that celebs create skincare but don’t ever truly need it because they get so much skincare done by professionals (aka facials, Botox, etc.).
The design of the goop pants is really nice (except for the pocket problems). But the raw seam and loose threads show that pricier doesn’t mean better quality. They’re probably making a crazy profit off of those pants and I wonder how much they pay their seamstresses.
To be fair it is standard practice to not finish the slash pocket seam that is under the pocket bag since it's not exposed when worn or washed, and would be more bulky if overlocked. But yeah, the quality didn't look great either way...
I am legit obsessed with Mia's hair color! I know we can barely see anything but that's what I like about it it's so subtle it's perfect. You should do your whole hair!
I know the pink hair didn't turn out how you were expecting, but honestly I feel like how it turned out looks great on you!! I'd love to see all your hair in that colour!
Those goop clothes are a complete scam. I was expecting French seams and lining for the price. I would've returned them immediately. Mia could make better pants herself (and with decent pockets). The pink is actually really cute! I like the subtlety of it. I understand if that's not what you envisioned though 😆 but yeah, you'd need to bleach before getting a bright pastel pink
I actually really love the subtle pop of rose gold on Mia. It warms up her complexion and just looks really cute! I really hope she was hinting at a brad mondo collab tho because that’s actually how I found this channel and it would be epic to see her with a massive her makeover moment
@@Katerina_Alexandraand if Guy does it, it would even come out amazingly! Brad is fun but he isn't really a stylist (i know he is licensed but he doesnt really practise at all)
There are a lot of clothes that are made of washable materials that they say “dry clean only” on because the manufacturers don’t want you bitching at them because they’re poorly made and are going to fall apart quickly after some washes. If they tell you to dry clean only, then either they can blame the dry cleaner for messing up your clothes or you for not following the care instructions. 😒
as someone who has used good dye young for years, their products are amazing. they last forever, i've bleached the hell out of my hair yet it still feels good as new, when they do end up fading, it still looks good.
I’d actually love to see you do a series on making hella expensive timeless clothes yourself! Like I’d watch you do a million episodes like that and follow along to them. In a way to not get sued for ripping of designs idk how that works ????????
i imagine you could look at multiple examples and pick individual design elements you like from different pieces and use those to come up with your own look.. it's not like anyone owns individual sewing techniques don't think anybody could sue you for just parts
"Everyone shield your eyes because I'm putting these in the wash" SAME, GIRL! Whatever happens in the washer to my "dry clean only" pieces is none of my business.
I really liked the result of hair dyeing. That subtle gentle strawberry blonde that you’ve got is so beautiful! I kind of regret that you didn’t dye all your hair, but also I understand that it was experiment with unknown outcome and you didn’t want to sacrifice all your hair. But I must say that result was very good looking in my opinion. Yes, it is subtle, but if they say there are less chemicals in the dye, I think it is to be expected to be less vibrant and less artificial. This soft color doesn’t hurt the eye but compliments your features in a nice way.
Hey hi, haven’t watched the vid yet, but I am a Dutchie to. Now I’m curious to see what you are talking about (I mean, why is there a random milk segment in a Mia Maples vid)
Honestly, if you’re going to invest serious money in clothes, then buy a made in Italy or a made in France brand by a proper fashion house. Their designs are incredible, the quality of the fabrics and the quality of the finished product is out of this world. This is particularly true to trousers and blazers - especially if you pick classic cuts. If you’re going to go into debt over clothes, then at least do it for the right brand. 😅While the cut of the Goop trousers was nice, I honestly wouldn’t pay 20 bucks for that finish. As for the tank top, Mango had an identical cut that they released almost 20 years ago in super soft cotton. These continue to wash beautifully, the color never faded and the fabric never pilled. They even had a long sleeve design. I do like the Goop lip glosses though.
I think the problem is that the middle class isn't properly educated about quality in materials. Most of us assume that if it is a more expensive product or famous brand name it MUST be better quality and get ripped off. The wealthy don't buy those famous names, they are for 'new' money and middle class folks who want to look/feel 'rich'. Real money is quiet and buys from established, reputable fashion houses known for quality and not fast-fashion or 'loud' fashion. The style is timeless and while the things may look basic, the quality and materials are incredible. That stuff will last for DECADES if properly cared for and taken care of.
@@Serasesera Totally agree. Even if you go to a regular unknown tailor in Italy, the final product will be fantastic. I think it’s a matter of pride in their craft that’s sadly disappearing worldwide.
I know scentless is no fun but as a "my face skin hates all scents" person I HAVE to use scentless stuff and it is surprisingly difficult to find truly scent or perfume free stuff. Even in the baby section, why do babies need perfume in their soap? xD
Really? I don't know, but scentless products have become really popular lately. My little sister has sensitive skin so we use scentless everything: soap, lotion, laundry detergent, etc and there usually is always a decent range of dye and scent free products
@@truefalse934 maybe it depends where you live and shop? It definetly got more popular but when I started to search it was super difficult. Plus companies love to write "for sensitive skin" and you turn it around and BOOM perfume O_O.
Drugstore skincare has more fragrance free options than high end or midrange in my experience. I have the same issue with fragrance. Can put it neck down but not on my face.
@@callmecharlie99 definetly! The drugstore I shop at has a really nice in house brand. Not everything is fragrance free but they have two lines where almost all products are fragrance free, nice quality, also don`t have a lot of other potentially irritating stuff and it is super affordable.
GIRL... I also say "mElk" instead of "milk" and even "pEllow" instead of "pillow" ...is it a Canadian thing?? lol probably not since Canadians make fun of me too!
"A certain someone" -- not me remembering Mia reaching out to Brad for help and then him reacting to her hair cut video and now hoping he will be doing her hair. Additionally, I'd love to see a new Drag brand review! Trixie's been putting out a lot of new stuff!
I was like ”haha the sewing can’t be that bad” and I almost choked on my cocoa when you showed the seams and lose threads. That is a CRIME, like did Gwyneth sew them herself by hand?
not gonna repurchase the mascara when it looks phenomenal on her?! Honestly the colors she chose of Rare Beauty suited her skin so much!! Even the overly white foundation.
Just because the mascara looks good on her doesn’t mean she likes it, we don’t know what she likes. She probably prefers more volume and it didn’t really give that. We won’t be able to know because it’s her personal preference
okay but the lighter pieces that took the hair color look really nice! like a silvery pink color. i think a whole head of pink hair would suit mia really well :)
GDY genuinely has some great products! Unfortunately you're right that baby pink usually needs super pale yellow (inside of a banana peel) or platinum white for it to show up!
i currently have a coral hair color and its genuinely just washed out magenta 😭 sometimes you can get close to or permanent light pinks through washing out…mine has stopped washing out and is now permanently coral LMAO
I'm completely here for the Brad Mondo collab you just teased. And if that's not what you were referring to, I'm heartbroken & you need to make this happen lol
@@lucmcconnell7241 Guy Tang is not a name I’ve heard in years and I don’t picture Mia being a fan as he is overall a bit outdated now. While when Mia cut her hair she used Brad Mondo’s tutorial
Have you tried his hair dye? I was so super disappointed!! I had the bottom half of my hair almost white to start. I got purple but it came out more Barney purple than dark. It started to fade big time after ONE wash. And it came off on my shirts for weeks. And no it wasn't wet any of those times. I shower at night. Bought two too. Smh 😔
I use Rhode beauty and it works for me. I think the reason you are breaking out is because you used it all together. The barrier restore cream is extremely thick and is good for ezema or extremely dry skin and because it is thick it is recommended to used at night and the peptide fluid is amazing under makeup, it gives a glow without being oily
Given the fact that I have very expensive taste I'm used to higher prices especially on good clothing items but let me tell you when I saw those goop prices... My jaw literally flew open I couldn't believe it
I don't usually comment on RU-vid videos, but the quality of this video was just so nice to watch with all the different angles and up closes, and truly obsessed with a 25 minute long mia maples video. Thank you for your content
6:52 Tip: If you wiggle the mascara from the base as you run it through your lashes, it helps coat them more better as opposed to just blinking it on. And also coating the other side helps add an extra layer of volume too. 😊
Hi Mia!! If you are ever looking for more video ideas, I LOVE your activity-based videos (like the living in a giant bubble one, or family camping/vacations)!!💛 But I still love these review ones too :)
@@Seventeenthirtyate thanks. that means a lot. lol now that i think about it i really need more people in my life who tell me that. eithherways. thanks :) also sry for ranting
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this already but the back pockets might be real. Usually on those kinds of items the pockets come sewn closed and you just have to seam rip them open. Might be worth checking if there is pocket lining inside the pants cause then you just need to open up that seam keeping it closed 😊
Yo Mia, to keep your ears safe from the hair dye, you can cover them in Vaseline. I also use Shea butter and straight up lanolin on my ears and the edges of my hairline/neck! So disappointing when a hair color isn't as pigmented as you hoped. I have the same problem often and just end up going dark magenta or purple just to feel something lmao
is it just me or that pink dye looks really good on her? i know the color is barely noticeable but it does give a slight rose gold hue to her hair. if i have blonde hair like her's i would've drenched my whole head with that dye 😂
I cannot believe the POOR QUALITY of those pants for the price. I know you don’t like to return things but because you paid way to much for them really should return them so they know they can’t just send out bad quality clothing like that. Great video and I do love the way you experimented with all the makeup and colours you’re amazing Mia 🌸
I loved this video! Do more please. No more Goop cause that's just crazy expensive for not great things. Didn't see much with the almost $200 eye patches, ridiculous.
i LOVE good dye young! Its the only hair dye that didnt cause me an allergic reaction! Pink puff is also my go to color and ive tried others from gdy but i fell in LOVE with how pastel pink my hair came out with puff pink and it also gave me so many compliments!!!
That light pink color would look STUNNING on your whole hair. That pink complements your skin so much! It looks “natural” not like your hair grew out that way but like it fits really well with the color palette of your eyes and skin
I watch these videos on my TV and I felt so strongly I had to pull it up on my phone to comment 😂😂 Girl that mascara looks SO GOOD on you! Your lashes are so lengthened and volumized and separated. They look great.
As a huge Paramore and therefore also Hayley fan for the past 15 or so years this made me so excited!! I'm sad you didn't go for a bolder colour but the end result was still cute. 🥰 Hope for a follow up video with more colour! Btw, Brian (who Hayley co-founded GDY with) has been her hairstylist for years and is one of her best friends. They are both super involved in the company and it's cool to see what they're doing with it. 😊
Wow gweneth is a scam artist!! I think when trying skin care it helps and is so important to go over the active ingredients like cerimides, aha, BHA, retinol. It helps to know what the actual active ingredients because sometimes they shouldn’t be applied together and you need to use some at night not before going into the sun
Scam Artist is an understatement 🙄 that's really a shame she's charging all of that money for something like that and Mia definitely could have done better.
Yesssssss!! I love watching those. Plus I think they would suggest she go more natural versus yellow blond. She has pink undertones / fair skin that the yellow/warm blond is a little harsh. A cooler blond or darker color would look👌🏼👌🏼
just a tip for good dye young: leave it on for like 2 hours if u want A LOT of pigment i left mine on for 2 hours (I used riot) and it showed up crazy bright
Although the pink didn’t show much. It suits you perfectly and you should put it on every strand of your hair. It’s light enough that it will vanish over time. It’s the perfect strawberry blonde/ rose gold look for you! Love your work!
PLEASE send the pants back and confront them with this insanely bad quality, bad packaging etc.!! I would literally love to see a video about the results
I know the pink hair didn't tern out as you first thought, but I actualy think the subtleness looks great on you, then what it would look like if it was a vibrent light pink. On you the pink is subtle but I think it's a perfect style on you! ❤
mia, for those lip balms that can't be pushed down, when you want them back down, gently tap the bottoms of them on a hard surface like a table or drawer, and they'll drop back in.
After watching your color consultation video, I just wanted to mention that your thrifted shirt you're wearing in the goop clip is a great neutral for summers!
I used Good Dye Young for sooooooo many months and it was such a great hair dye. I reach for it way more than any other dye when my hair is colorful and fun.
I’ve been using the Rhode Glazing Milk for about a week now, and I’m surprised to find that I really like it so far. It initially made my skin sting a bit, but that stopped a couple days in & it seems to be helping my rosacea calm tf down a bit. Could I have bought an equally good & way less expensive comparable product from a Korean skin care website? Probably. But I was feeling lazy & influenced by social media, so here we are.
If your lipgloss is sticky there’s a way to fix it! After a few uses, when there is a little more space in the tube you can take out the stopper and put in a little olive oil or any other cooking oil, mix it in and you’ve got a gloss to whatever consistency you want and it’ll last just a touch longer than usual 👍
Mia you somehow look even more beautiful than usual in this video. I did not think it was possible nor do I know what's different, but you're killing it!
I love Good Dye Young! As you mentioned, it does work better when your hair is bleached or super light! I use it on my money pieces and the pigment is awesome
*Very fun video! As usual, enjoyed immensely. * I actually thought the Rare Beauty mascara looked so good on her lashes, better than the Kylie one in my opinion. *The light pink in her hair still did a little something. It's a cute little double-take moment 😉
Is Mia teasing that Brad Mondo will do her hair , is that it? If it is, I’m really really excited because these two are my favorite favorite favorite RU-vidrs ❤❤
A hairdresser once used Vaseline on my ears and edge of my hairline which stopped my black hair dye from staining any of the skin that had Vaseline on, maybe worth a try for future dye! :))
