I’m just starting duck hunting, got any tips on how to set up your decoys and stuff like that. FYI I’m hunting on a big creek eddy where I’ve seen lots of mallards, goldeneye, and a few teal and geese.

A couple quick things when cooking birds like that. You don't want to cut the meat before you cook it because all of the fat and juices will run out while cooking, and it will make it more dry. You can slice the skin a bit, and like you did, cook it mostly skin down, then flip to the other side to a med rare cook. Then, let the breast rest for five minutes or so before you slice it. It gives the meat a chance to soak all the juices back up. I would also leave the meat out of the vegetables and not cook them together to finish it up if you're keeping the skin on. If you introduce moisture to the skin after it nice and crispy, it'll soak up the extra moisture and make it soggy. Anyways, great video, and great cooking. Keep it up!

That's the best-looking Woody I've ever seen I think I'd mount it. That's got to be the fastest two man limit ever. You should check with guineas world records or Ripley's Believe It or Not. 6 minute limit....God that would be nice....if we ever 2 man limited here in SW VA/East TN id be ecstatic....it's so hard outside of any major flyway tucked in the appalachians and hunting mostly residents....lol sometimes I wonder why we even try it here....any advice when there are very few local birds and you are so far away from flyways? No sheet water all mountains and mostly big water hunting....no fields or farm ponds to really speak of. Love the vids man! Hope the tongue is good to go soon!

Hay Bobby hope the biopsy comes back negative. Went hunting this morning. No wind blue skys...not the best...buuut we limited today on 5 different species of duck and almost had a shot on snows. Great vids man keep up the slaying. Also you should do the old guy feading ducks on a bench challenge. Dress up like an old guy put a bench out and put all the decoys really close up to you like your feeding them bred.

I have a recipe for you to do. I do this with Specs, Mallards, and Pintails. Pluck the breast like you did that goose, and just season it like a steak and grill it. After our waterfowl opener in California my dad and I shot 4 mallards and cooked I cooked them just like that and did duck and eggs for the football game on Sunday morning (our East coast games start at 10 AM).

Yes, thats a good wood duck with good color but he's a little on the small side. I would be a little more patient and wait on a little bit larger one especially one with a bigger head. In Georgia it's pretty much all we kill and they do get better. But, that Gadwall on the other hand is second to none. Great Video loved every second of it.
