Don't know if it's been said, but the obsidian for the basketball one is there because it's classified as an 'immovable block,' meaning it can't be moved by pistons. Slime blocks can latch on to all adjacent blocks and carry them with it, and the obsidian prevents this. Another one that I like to use is furnaces.

for the glass block, when you push a block into a block and break it, the block that was at the barrier will technically break but there is a visual glitch and it makes it seem its there even tho its not there.

The reason the piston border glitch works is because the game registers the piston moving the block across the border but it can’t register visually due to how the border works

If you get a composter place it and dig the blocks under it, stand in it start filling it and you will go through it (on bedrock)

This is a real fact if you don’t have a barrier and you put a tower of any block and use a piston to push it then it will push one block, and then the whole entire tower will still be in the air just in the air and one block will move

Use a Trapdoor with a Composter! I've actually Discovered that you can use Trap doors themselves to Look under Lava, and they also provide a pathway over the Lava. Two-Fold Minecraft life hack!

At 15:23 you can use black concrete to create an empty surrounding as well. I've done this with a minecart and rails surrounded by black concrete walls such that it looks like you're going through the abyss.

You remember when you said that you needed a flying car, I was reading books in a library one day online, and I saw a book about a different country, they actually have flying cars that you can buy, it's a giant, go kart with a fan on its back, that has a pair of shoes that makes it able to fly, and those are actually street legal in that country. In the second one you were supposed to place reinforced deep slate then put lava on top , break the reinforced deep slate place the leaves place the water break the leaves
