Just a thought, but in the non-walkable section, your parks radius of impact overlap the walkable area, you need to move them further into the non-walkable area for a truer comparison.
Alr so I checked it out and it doesn't seem to be a big difference. Their is a small over lap but the entire walkable area has higher land value, not just the part with the overlap of the parks

Great experiment and well edited. I always make sure to focus on a public transit system as soon as I unlock it. I mainly focus on underground being british but a nice localised bus/tram network makes more sense in a remote town.

@@walkable2 not from London just the uk. Where I live (near manchester) there's a great train/tram network. Makes the city much more accessible and I know I can go anywhere on foot and get round easily
ohh my bad, I wish I could go everywhere on foot here in the United States. Ik that day is far off but im still dreaming. The times ive been to the uk, they've always have had really nice walkable cities! It sounds lovely where you live!
Ur post raises an interesting question. Why do they have transit as an option that is only unlocked past a certain threshold? The logic, I gather, is that a certain population is needed to make transit viable, but there are European precedents where planners put the transit in as early as possible in new precincts because they know that will then make higher density residential more viable than it otherwise would be. Hoping that dynamic is recognised & allowed for in Cities Skylines II.

Great video! I've never seen a video in cities skylines about this. Loved your last video about the highway. Really been enjoying this series, hope there are more to come. Also, I was wondering what mods u use since ur videos look super colorful, but not tacky in regard to visuals.
Thanks, I try to create videos that are unique! Im glad your enjoying the series, the next video will be out shortly. The mods I use to make it look nice are: Theme mixer 2, Ultimate Eyecandy, and crowned mountains as my theme. I don't use a LUT. Im glad you liked the series!

Very cool video. I would give you some more tips for making walkable cities, but the math that operates Cities Skylines doesn't actually really encourage walkable developments past having some transportation. Hopefully the next game is more complex and challenging
57thorns completely is right. Being next to water increases land value for the places that are near water. Though with the walkable area, the entire thing has higher land value not just the parts near the water. Also Public transit and high density does increase land value but It should count because those are just the benefits of having a walkable city. My favorite parts of making these videos is reading the comments, I never would have thought about the ocean-front affecting land value if you didn't bring it up! Thanks so much!
Walkable districts have an inherent increase in land value because cars and traffic produce noise pollution. All pollutions including noise pollution will cause a decrease to land value.

lol ikr. I live near Washington dc which is pretty good at being walkable but whenever I go to Europe they do such a better job! I hope one day America catches up to Europe and actually has some truly walkable cities.
Obviously land value increases in a denser walkable city, but thats the whole reason why people live in the suburbs, BECAUSE the land value is cheaper and thus you can afford a bigger house.
This is my first ever Walkable video. Ummm...how didn't I know about him?! The pace is an incredibly refreshing, dare I say, exciting, style for CS. It manages to get in even more nitty-gritty details of how to actually do it on your own and gives you the reason. Crisply. Entertainingly. I am really looking forward to watching previous uploads and, hopefully, more to come, because this is quality, quality stuff.

That's looking good man. Maybe you should build avenues/4 lanes roads at keys areas to help car getting where they want. Like where the tram goes for exemple, it would be great i think. But anyway that's a subscrib for me ^^
Thanks so much for watching! Thier hasn't been any traffic in the walkable area but if their were, I would probably try to fix it using transet so people don't have to drive. I would definitely upgrade roads to 4 lanes in other parts of the city but in this area, I dedicated so much time to making it walkable that I would rather use transet to fix traffic. Your idea is probably how I would do it in the rest of the city but in the walkable area I would use transet because I want everyone to not use cars. I really appreciate the thoughtful comment and the support. My favorite part about making these videos is getting to talk to the people in the comments!

People i have a question, why doesn’t my cities skylines have all the features (I have deluxe edition), i dont have industry and garbage section, can’t make custom parks, cant make custom districts, please someone tell me what is the problem
I think the deluxe edition of Cities: Skylines doesn't have every DLC. Sadly Cities: Skylines is pretty expensive to get all the DLC's. I'm also using mods though making custom parks is part of a dlc.
