Ds 450 is the most expensive race bike to rebuild

I’ve always been a sport quad rider watching y’all ride mud quads but I’ll give ya a tip always clean ur air filter after every ride no need to buy a new one jus clean it every ride so u don’t ruin ur valves those things aren’t cheap to rebuild actually a ds450 is the most expensive 450 to rebuild lol

This is why I like my 400ex.. No coolant needed. Air cooled! Easy and simple, no fans. No check engine lights either, a lot less to break. But not as fast as a 450

It’s a sport quad, they are made for racing and being fast at the low end. They aren’t made for top speed runs. Also check engine flashing on anything means stop you just cooked the motor

Mine had different sprockets and it never hit rev limiter like that and topped out in the low 90s

9:33 Polaris actually did make sport quads they made a predator, outlaw, and phoenix They still make them but only in youth sizes

Sport quads are meant to get up to 60 fast not have a high top speed because on a track or trails your not going above 60 usually.

mine did the same thing. its defenetly overheating. manual showed that the check engine light shows many things. engine failiure, electrical failiure and overheating.

If you think that the 450 is a fast quad then you should try and ride a can am 650 ds Baja. I have a 04 650 that is a absolute beast

Did you look into the ktm 525 XC? Is the same type of quad but with 75 more cc’s

Ik on the can am ds450 we used to have there was a pink wier under the seat and when u cut it takes of the governor speed and it would hit 80 so idk

Bro. Invest in some alligator clips for the ends of your wires. Also, you can grab a multimeter and check the wiring coming from the relay and fuse. I know your fan is bad, but checking to make sure it’s got 12 volts coming to it would verify it’s just the fan and not something else also.

Either the fuse blown or the fan motor gone out.

Yeah definitely needs new gears mine dose 75 and thats was not even toped out i got a 14 front and 37 in the back but very small rear tires. Mine aslo has a few small mods like pine wire cut and c&n air filter

You should buy a aftermarket air intake and a ecu that works with that quad and a better exhaust I guarantee it will be much faster

Good tip those are racing quads just like 450 dirtbikes so you can't let them sit and idle they will overheat it 2 minutes they need to be ridden hard get engine ice coolant thats what I had to put in my brand new Honda

Some changed the sprockets on that so it has no top end speed. On my ds I could go 130 kmh

Bad idea they cost way more to get fixed .. I have an 08 i bought brand new .. I road it hard 3 1/2 years before it gave me problems. Which were my fault for not taking care of my quad. I did change rear sprocket to a 36 or 38 tooth. ...band use to get 75 - 78 depending on weather and road . but definitely fast through 5 gears.

If check engine is flashing count how many times it blinks and then look up codes and it will tell u exactly what’s wrong with it bro👏🏼😎

Change the sprocket setup and you will get more top end. Its probably setup for track racing.

I hade a sport quad 06 trx450er and the top speed on it was 115km and the crf250r dirt bike that I hade what 130km

It's not good to bouncer a ds450 on rev limiter in each gear

If the fan isn’t running it might be that the fuse for the fan is bad

Take the 18in tires off and put 20 11 9 on it and you will go faster i have one and she moves mine has a full big gun Evo R exhaust Dyno jet programmer K&N Filter

Taking off the air box cover gives you more torque
