Not necessarily! Every system is different! I have had some test better right against the back seat bracket and others in the corner some upside down some right side up! You just move and test till you get your highest spl! I’m running my ported box backwards right now cause it was built for a Chevy Cruze amd it’s now in a hatch and it hits way harder facing the rear! The Cruze was the opposite it fired right into the cab from the truck so subs forward and port forward was loudest!
Dan Dun Did how do i tune my amp? my box is built to 35 hz it’s 4.00 cubic feet and my subs are rated for 600 rms each my amp is 1500 watts at one ohm( my subs are wired together for 1 ohm final load) my gain is about 3/4 turned to max sub sonic is set to about 28 hz and low pass about 120
@@DatHondaBoi223 personally , and when I say PERSONALLY, i mean from my own honest experience, what i do to tune my own amps, i set the headunit to max volume where there Is no distortion after tuning the door speakers, & use the song with most bass that I will listen to, turn the headunit to -3 on the subwoofer output, then adjust the gain to match up with the subwoofer, lowpass should only be set to 80hz , anything over that will just cause unnecessary heat on the coil. Subsonic should only be set between 30-32hz due to your enclosure.
I agree with you about going with a sealed enclosure. If you want SQ you gotta go with sealed. If you want sheer ridiculous amount of bass with kinda good quality you go ported. Another bonus of a sealed box is the enclosure sizes are smaller so it takes up less space in your car. Plus making a properly tuned ported box is a lot harder and trickier to get right. You made the right SQ choice. Only drawback to a sealed enclosure is less efficient than a ported but all that means is you need an amp that can perform. Seems you got that covered so you're good.
Awesome setup! I'd go ahead & add some damping material (mass!), to control at least some of the rattles. I'm sure those 12's sound amazing, though! :)
Nice!!! Your R36 is clean bro. Love it 😍 I have a b6 2.0T. Lil word of advise.. Remove the top of your rear deck panel along with your rear window privacy screen housing and put down some road kill sound deadener. On top of the sound deadener, put down a cushioning material ( I used a large piece of yoga mat ). Then put everything back together. That privacy screen housing back there is a rattle trap for sure. Sound deaden the trunk lid and license plate, and you should be golden. For shits and giggles try moving the subs closer to the taillights, you’ll get less sound wave cancellation, and bass will be more accurate. Just please don’t mount the amp to the box when you get one. I made an amp rack between where the back seats fold down and the back of the box. I just keep the ski hole open instead of folding down the seats for a cleaner look. Just my 2 cents and food for thought.👍
I hade my Polk audio PSW-404 110v In my Ford Escape and my sub killed my ears and my rearview mirror was shaking like mad and I went to the back of the car and my trunk was rattling but the bass was so good btw love your videos keep up the great work
bater y das MTH30 kommt leider nich tief genug ich überlege aber mal ne Modifikationen zu machen und die hornöffnung durch 1-2 Rohre zu verkleinern bzw über nen Kasten die Öffnung zu verlängern
Man, such a nice car and I really really love the tyres. Well done for choosing such good car. Also if I were you, I would have put those subs in my bedroom and for the car I would install a small square box with 10" sub or 12 inch sub with at least 300W RMS which would be enough. I look forward for that "how to make the box" video please!

@@borsohd you should definetly check out EXO or JP I think you will like the demos of some of the extreme rigs with multiple subs and crazy high power!
I have an 18" in my room and a 10" in my car. The 10" technically is enough for me in either the car or room as I can tune it to 20hz in a 2 cube box. (will do that for the car eventually, currently sealed)
