Heyy, just a tip: if you don't want the ends of your panels/tubes to curve, you can use scrap yarn :) there is a lot of tutorials on yt on how to do it, it's very easy and it makes it easier to know how long your products are going to be
Wow! I am so impressed with your friends ingenuity in making your sweaters! If you do what is known as “blocking” your sweater edges (or anything else) won't curl up and your shaping will stay in place!
I've seen people use electric drills with these knitting machines so they don't have to turn the thingy by hand. I think that would make the process go by much faster
I got this attachment that you just flip a switch/dial, it goes fairly well extremely quickly with minimal supervision if you have the yarn unwinded/detangled. I've used it to make 50 hats for charity and its cut the time down significantly by like 6x.
So much fun!! I have the Sentro and the Addi...you are going to just keep loving it more and more!! I think you did amazing work here!! Can't wait to see what you make next!
Hey mel! Well it looks like someone is enjoying their Christmas present but all jokes aside I'm glad to see that you found a hobby that let's you explore you're creative side and that brings you so much joy because you deserve to be happy :) lovee youuu Ps slow but surely you are tempting me to try out crocheting/ knitting out for myself 😜
Hi again!! (just responded to ur comment on my other video hehe) But yes! It has been an absolute highlight of my days recently! And you are the sweetest as always :,,) you deserve all the joy in the world too Owami!! And I most definitely encourage you to try it out, its been such a life changer here (haha clearly)
I found a great video yesterday on how to fix dropped stitches on panels. I can't wait to try it, since I really have a hard time with panels right now.
To make the sleeves not curl u can steam it out it will be flatter and stretch longer also I have seen some tutorials where they person did a single crochet row to finish the edge too. That makes it look polished!❤
I don’t know if this counts for knitting because I just crochet but after doing pieces of you project you can try blocking it stops the curling of the edges and it keeps the size and shape. There’s lots of videos of how to block and why it helps on RU-vid that’s where I’ve been learning 😊
I’m not sure what size loom you were using. Sentro has a 48 40 32 and 22 if you were using the 48 I would get the 40 and use that for the sleeves. I haven’t tried panels yet with any of mine but you made it look pretty easy.
joining panels, you can just crochet one loop at the edge of one panel to the same row loop on the other, and crochet back to the second loop on the first panel etc to save adding thread, awesome trick
After you are finished knitting the tube, stretch it long ways, and it makes the sleeves more narrow. You will also need fewer rows to reach your desired length. I hope this helps. Btw is a very cute top ☺️
Hey Melanie! There are some tutorials on how to add some ribbing at the beginning of the project which does look a little tedious but if you want to do some ribbing at the beginning instead of battling the curved ends there are ways to do it! Your pieces came out very cool!
I literally got this machine less than 48 hours for my birthday and nowhere in the instructions did it say that to set it up you need to thread it through every other needle 😭 I already ordered a drill attachment and sewing machine oil for when it gets stuck. Now I just need to figure out how to actually cast off properly
I learned a lot watching @altknots videos for using the sentro machine and addi king-size machine. Using waste yarn to start and end is such a game changer!
