Man! Every time I watch your videos I see a genuine contagious smile!!! Thanks for the great videos! Please keep them coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Hank Landry thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Just changed mine using stock weight. Mine too had very little fluid in the diff. Thanks for the video! The other 6S Arrmas call for 100k fluid. I'll definitely test this too!
That's a very happy man with the results of 300k. I had the same problem with the kraton so I changed my diff fluid to 500k and I had that exact smile😁
@@outsourcedrc hey man great videos i really appreciate that you are open to running and trying other brands. Are you still running the stock receiver and transmitter on the typhon thanks again
I’ve only had rear diff issues with big tires. The notorious will have issues with rear diff. You may get lucky. Typhon tires are small, I’ve had no issues.
The Notorious is wonderful with thick fluid. My v4 is currently 30k front, silicone earplugs center and 30k rear. After watching your vid and my bash session today, I'm going back to 1million cst in the rear. It was such fun at the dog park/baseball fields with that setup
I beat the snot out of my notorious the other day and surprised it drove away with no damage just learning how to jump and land properly I ended up landing quite a few times right on the nose lol but I'm definetly happy I listened to you a little while ago when you told me to go notorious over maxx love your videos man keep it up
Typhon was my first arrma rig after just owning traxxas and I never looked back. typhon is a monster ripper. Enjoy your content my friend. Looks like the same spot Gap races on. Keep em coming brother 💯💪
Great video. I put 125k in the center of my Notorious because it’s the heaviest I can buy right now. But it’s -20 C here and all ice and snow, so it’s difficult to judge the effect. Great video doing the back to back comparison. 👍
Hey! I didn't know you ran at the same Dave n Busters spot where BIG Gap Reviews A to Z be racing at. I extremely want see you two guys race. I follow both you guys channel. I was smiling 😃the entire time. Glad you figured out the diffs fluid. There's a whole lot more to do with these Arrma platforms. Now try the Proline MX28 buggy tires and you're going to smile like the Joker 🤤💯
Yeah I bump into Gap all the time. He is the one that told me about that spot. I'll race him. He has my number. Those tires? Are they the Badlands? I'll look into them.
@@outsourcedrc it's a notorious with small wheels? And a wider stance is my thoughts. Man we have to many cool RCs best way to forget about communism is RC
I changed myV4 Typhon centre diff to 300k oil today but haven't run it yet to test. There was only a tiny amount of thin oil in there so I expect a huge difference. I actually would have preferred to go around 200k but I have no 200k oil so it was between 300k and 500k and 300k was the safest bet. I have 500k in my Kraton 6s and that made a world of difference.
You're making me want to pick up another Typhon !!!! Had a V4 , did 30 k / 300k / 20k and then truggified it , holy cow instant backflips in the air with the MX28's !! Even with the stock tires and truggified handled awesome !!! Glad to see you enjoying it !!! BTW, I also did 300k in my Noto , perfect IMO . Isn't it nice how fast you can get to the center diff ???
Nice! I ran 500k, 1mill cst and then eventually stuffed silicone earplugs in my Talion and Notorious. Definitely had to re-shim the front and rear diffs but it puts the power down so well. Almost too well sometimes 😬😂
@@surfside75 yep! I recently changed it out again though. Center diff is currently half silicone earplugs and half 1 million cst. Still great power distribution, but easier on the diff internals
i run 1 million in my 1/10 raptor Baja rey makes a huge difference now the front doesnt balloon the fronts and sends about 30% more power to the back !!!
Adding 1million to my center diff in my Mojave v2 with a rear diff lock and 500k in front? Do you believe this will be good for offroad loose surfaces?
@@surfside75 that would be much better for on road speed runs only I think. You’re turning is going to suck putting a locker in the rear and that thick in front. Also will be very hard on drivetrain. You could do the million center.
Bought a 6s typhon roller a from a friend along with 2 2050kv, metal gear servo and a DST3 transmitter and a clear shell. Painted Black and yellow so can see better at a distance. Still adding decals as ik see fit. Not wanting any red on it.
1million center, rear is getting a spool and front is getting 500k🤣 -will see if I break all my weak diff pins within a few runs😑🤣 Mojave offroad only.
Lol, nice tip!!.... I wish I had seen this vid like 2 weeks ago cuz I literally just redid the fluid on my center diff with the stock 10k fluid. And I have also noticed that it does burn the front tires a lot faster than the rears with the factory setup. I am however thinking about getting rid of the center diff & replacing it with the Limitless spool. I'm getting a titanium spool for my Limitless so I may drop the stock one into the Typhon 6S. The Typhon 6S is so far my favorite buggy to bash with, thing has serious ballz lol. I have been bashing it for almost 1.5yr now. I even put a castle MMX 8S at one point, insane power! 😆 Happy Bashing Bro 😎👍
@@outsourcedrc I sure will! 👍😎 Might be a while now, I just picked up my 1st nitro car, a Losi 8ight Buggy! 😁 That's gonna be interesting lol. I'm hoping that I don't screw up the break-in process 🤞
I ran 100k oil in Ofna nitro buggy. I thought that was plenty. You get the back end to break loose but it wouldn't wheelie. 300k for me is high. However I might try 300k in my Maxx. The stock center diff oil is soooo friggin thick!
@@surfside75 I'm talking about the smaller Maxx. Traxxas wants the X-Maxx and Maxx to wheelie all the time. But with mine I'm thinking to try out a million weight and see how that does.
Looks like the 300k diff fluid did the trick. I have a kraton v5, but I really need to get me a buggy. The control is amazing looking. My rustler vxl has good control, but not like the typhon. I have an idea, how about an off road comparison of the typhon vs rustler vxl 4x4? Just for fun si ce they aren't really the same category. Nice vid, keep it up!
Maybe they do it to slow the rc down? Suppose it could be dangerous given to wrong person.then they not opened scrutiny if they hit someone or something. Just a thought tho.. ive thought about this ?? For years!.
@@kasparov937 Oh thats a hard choice. They are so different and are so much fun. I guess it comes down to what you want to spend and where you can drive it. If I could have only one, man... I dont know lol. You cant go wrong with either.
Hey bro, love the vids! If I can make a quick suggestion? I run my Typhon V5 with 50K in the front, 300K in the center and 30K in the rear diff. Even more control and even less power bleeding to the front wheels. Best of luck with the Typhon and keep up the good work
@@outsourcedrc I did break it on stock oil. Blew my rear diff's planetary gears. Since I moved to a thicker oil, I've had zero issues and I mostly bash on 6S with the 16T pinion. I also shimmed both the front and the rear tho.
@@gonzodetroitify I think the stock oil setup is too light when general bashing around. It is however very good for racing on carpet. I think it might've been a badly build diff right out the box... Those things happen I guess. I shimmed it on the diff itself on the side of the ring hear, between the ring gear and the bearing. The input gear felt tight enough.
Just bought some 1million weight silicone oil for the center diff for my Mojave basher. Going to try a WCM diff locker for the rear? and 60k in the front. Probably going to snap the weak arrma diff pins now in the rear🙄🤙🤣🍻
thanks for this Video. I just pickup up a typhon 6s v5. sounds like I should be changing the fluid in all the diffs? what weight would you recommend in all the diffs? and pack them totally full correct?
My stock typhon does double backflips.... thats with the 2pt speed pinion. Top speed was 72mph with the 20t. Tried a 25t yesterday and only maxed out at 74. Super disappointed to be honest. Still stock 50t center diff. Might try the infraction v2 center 46t diff and try again. Now after watching, I want to take apart the center typhon diff and check the fluid!
I got 3 hour run time out my stock tires before the front tires went bald .I wonder if the heavier diif fluid may help with that since it seems like the front just spin too much .any suggestions on some good long lasting off road or on road tires ?
After watching you play with this buggy i want one now but I really can't make up my mind if I'd rather have the typhoon or the talion 6s truggy/buggy or whatever it is. Those talions look wicked to its also supposed to run 70mph with optional gearing. I have a widemaxx this will be my 2nd hobby grade rc so I just wanna be sure ill be happy with what I get. Next thing or my 3rd rc will be a crawler.
I have not driven the Talion, but I'm sure its fun. I'm just concerned at how durable it is. I know my Notorious stays broken. It seems to me that Arrma does not do RC's with wide foot prints very well. I think its too much weight and leverage for their materials. The Typhon is a little beast though. You wont be disappointed with it.
Thanks for the input I ended up going with the axial ryft. It should be here sometime this week and I can't wait im super excited about the ryft it looks awesome. I seen on Facebook that vitavon is coming out with a swaybar they already have the trailing arms and axel housings im gonna get for it.
That's a good setup. I personally like 80k up front and 30k in the rear, with 300k center. But I like more power going to the rear as I like to lay down them fat skids lol.
I’ve been following your videos on the Arrma Typhon 6S V5 with particular interest as it’s the RC I want to buy next. Keep up the good work. Is it me or has your rear right tyre also come partially unglued? Judging by the thumbnail picture it looks that way.
I work at a local hobby store and just got mine yesterday. Had a customer come in and was telling me about how awesome was. I was already wanting a new r/c and that settled it. Amazing! Get it. You won't regret it.
Yes. Exactly. Think of it as taking the training wheels off a bike. Now you have more control. You can lean into turns, but now you have to have better control over the bike because you have no training wheels. That is what is happening here. Before, it was harder to spin the Typhon around because it wasnt getting a lot of power to the rear wheels. They would not break free, But now they do. So you have more control, but you have to be a better driver to not lose control.
Or Vitavon diff cases with bigger output bearings. The integy cases are very nice in raw aluminum but with stock size bearings at a super price! $45each versus $100 for Vitavon👍
everything has Pros nad Cons. Thinner Center Fluid for Typhon 6s (10.000 - 50.000): easier to drive on loose terrain - reduces oversteering - reduces wear and tear of the Pinion, Spur Gear and the Rear Gears, less Load (Current) on the motor - longer Runtimes. Thicker Center Fluid for Typhon 6s (100.000 - 500.000): more bite, more acceleration, mighty feeling ! , requires an advanced driver, extreme oversteering on full throttle, "but" heavy Load (Current) on the motor, shorter Runtimes and will cause quick wear and tear on a Gears and outdrives. Conclusion: Thick: Just Yeaaah !!! but will shorten Runtime and Lifetime of a lot of Parts. Thin: Still a bit of Yeah ! , longer Runtime and longer Lifetime, less Repairs and less need of spare parts So what about going with 75.000 in the Typhon 6s, maybe best of both worlds ?
@@outsourcedrc Oh now I see. In the manual it says Stock is : front and rear 10k and center 100k. The thin feeling is because Arrma always uses way too less fluid. Everytime I get a new Arrma, first thing I do is filling the diffs. It's a common Arrma Issue. Don't know why Arrma is doing this
I used Mugen Seiki in this. Diff fluid seems to be out of stock everywhere. I just googled "300k diff fluid" and bought what I could get off of Ebay. My Local hobby shop has been waiting months for diff fluids.
Okay so I thought the reason for the way it reacts is because the rear gets more traction so the rear shocks compress allowing the front shocks to decompress allowing the tires to come off the floor slightly more than the rear allowing the front tires to balloon.. guys please chime in I'm curious now
I dont know anything about it, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about that brand. I just looked at the ratings on the internet and it has lots of good reviews. Wish I could be more help.
@@outsourcedrc thank u I really think u should get it and let me know what u think. I got mine the other day and I ran it in the cold and I had a little accident lol broke the chassi now I'm waiting for 90 dollars in parts
Fun fact : the instructions that come with the typhon V4 recommend 100k diff fluid. But on the Typhon V5 instructions it says 10k diff fluid. I wonder why they changed that, maybe some stress issues on the central diff ? Anyway great vid ! I'm gonna try 100k fluid on mine since it has the same traction issues as yours out of the box.
Yep. I'm actually going to put 1 million in the center and see what happens. i'll probably back down to 500k though. I have both fluids coming in the mail.
Just watched the unboxing run and thought meh. I'll get another small car "big Rock" now I see this I'm like maybe this is better than the team magic 6 seth
Mate I’d love a video going through your e revo stuff like diff fluid, hop ups, suspension/shock setup, etc. your revo handles great I’m not sure if you have it in the lower chassis holes or the stock hole (the holes near the front a arms) but it seems to STICK to the ground
Thats funny, because I'm working on that video right this second. I actually have to wait for something to come in the mail. Once it gets here, I'll do a complete break down of my suspension setup. Kinda funny that I'm asked about this all the time.
I think if you had hit the ramp and kept the throttle it would have back flipped easier. letting off when it hit the ramp and then throttling made it flip slower.
Yeah I was slowing down so that I would have the throttle to rotate it. If you hit a ramp with your wheels spinning full speed, It makes it harder to rotate in the air because the Wheels cant really spin much faster.
