The spray skirt I am using is Immersion Research Shockwave Bungee Spray Skirt. immersionresearch.com/collections/spray-skirts/products/shockwave-bungee-spray-skirt
Great video, thanks. I use Kalleq with my inflatable kayaks. It totally surprised me how efficient it was with an 81cm wide one. 🙃 I can't roll yet and rolling an inflatable is a triple challenge. It's time to learn it though. 😉
I am glad to know Kalleq is such a popular choice of paddle among many kayakers including you and me, which confirms that I made the right choice. I agree with you that rolling an inflatable kayak is much harder. Hopefully, you can do it without much trouble in the near future. Good luck :)
Great rolling, boy how I wish I could roll like you. l love my Kalleq, it’s a 230 cm though I’m still learning to roll, also got the Gearlab rolling float to help learn. Can you hand roll Super K? You know I was told by a popular Canoe and Kayak store that Greenland paddles are inefficient, and I just shook my head. Love watching your videos.
First of all, you got the best Greenland paddle probably ever made in my opinion. Greenland paddles are super efficient depending on how good you are with them just like any other tool. So, calling it inefficient is ignorant. To answer your question, I don’t do hand rolls not only because I have never tried it but also because I can’t find it practical enough to motivate myself to learn and practice it especially in rough waters. However, that’s just me. I hope you have more success in your rolls in the future. You will get it. It is just a matter of time :)
My glasses get fogged up too. To solve the problem, I always carry a hand towel in a plastic bag inside my PFD. I also scoop water onto my glasses, which gives me a few seconds of clear vision.
It all depends on the length of your arms when you spread them open horizontally. However, the standard length is 220cm, and that’s what I have for my Kellaq. I find it perfect for me. My other Greenland paddle, which is a 210cm Akiak, is more like my storm paddle. By the way, my height is 172cm. Hopefully, this helps :)
