Great video covering the rest. Thinking about the course elevation knob, the side that is closest to the vertical support moves in the direction the bridge will move. Also loved the camera position showing your position and the seat. I noticed that you pretty much come completely off the rifle right before you shoot.

In the beginning when I'm setting up the scope. Rifle is level where I want it. Then I put the scope on and level to Strader lines plub to the Earth. So when I level the rest it's to the scope level that I put on it.

My club uses 3/8" stall mat to cover all the benches.

Always harder to introduce torque on a flat bench like you're firing off. Tend to see it more at ground level where uneven surfaces come into play. Great looking rest though, and it looks like you've got a nice stiff bolt click on extraction.

Agreed but I'm not getting any torque on the ground either but yeah you're right. As for the click, it's a new cartridge and we're figuring out dimensions but the click isn't nearly as bad as it looks and I know it sounds bad but I don't mind click in a situation like this because it's not really affecting anything at this point but ideally it'll get worked out. .

@@FClassJohn Is this your 6.5-7PRC wildcat cartridge John? I'm wildcatting this cartridge myself and have a custom die made by Whidden's based off the reamer print so hopefully they've kept the tolerances nice and tight to prevent clickers. The Micron Precision dies would be good but I don't believe they are doing custom orders.

@@kriswilson5400 Sounds like you have it dialed in so that’s good. The key to avoiding clickers is to open have a reamer with a little bit more base diameter but as we are all still learning this cartridge is taking a little time to figure out what the right dimensions are. I’ve modified mine a little bit and it’s officially 7 Windthumper. Time will tell how all these prc variants perform.

So are you allowed to use a tuner in f-class but not a break? I have the EC Tuner break for PRS but looking to get into f-class and bummed I have to take it off.

Correct. No brakes or suppressors allowed on F Class. Tuners are ok.

It's fairly common in F Class. It give you visual access to the chamber but keeps your bolt hand away. Can't say it's actually a better setup but I like it and it works for me. Some guys prefer same side bolt and port.

Savage makes one i think. Only factory gun configured like that i know of. I dont think i could get used to it. I single feed a lot too. All my guns have sleds even the 22lr and 17hmr.

Just be prepared to type fast and if you mess up refresh your screen, don't try just re-entering data. No telling how fast it will sell out since attendance is unknown with component shortages and such but I'm sure it will still sell out quickly.

They’re just identifiers for me in my log books. I actually don’t use them anymore and now use punch numbers on the side of the barrel.

I see you are using the new Andi-Scan chronograph. Do you like it and do you think it is worth $1390 shipped?

It's a lot of money for sure but I think it's only about $900ish to ship to the US right now from what he told me?? At $900 it's only a little more than a Labradar once you buy all the needed Gera compared to the AndiScan that comes with everything you need. I can tell you I don't miss the LR at all. I always have the Andi with me now in my range bag and here's been times I didn't plan on taking speed readings but remembered it was in my bag and pulled it out. It's also amazing for traveling since I can just throw it in my backpack on the plane. I know it won't be for everyone but in my case it is worth it.

John, I have a potentially stupid question... Do co-axial front rests actually improve performance, or are they ultimately just something nice to have? I thought the answer was obvious, but after shooting my very first 600 yard f-class match last weekend, I'm not certain. I was shooting a factory rifle (with a well developed handload) off a bipod and rear bag, and I somehow managed to beat a few competitors who were completely decked out with full f-class equipment... custom rifles, $2,000 front rests, the whole deal. I scored 594-21X on a day where the conditions were nearly ideal. Honestly, how much more do you stand to gain with a high dollar rest? I really want to get one, but simply can't afford one at the moment.

First off, congrats on the win. On the rest, it all comes down to small details and whether they matter to you. You get better and easier resolution on target which matters long term. You also get on target repeatedly faster and will far less chance of lining up on the wrong target compared to a bipod. I understand the cost issue for sure. One of the best options out there cost wise is the standard Seb Mini. You can order one without too long of a waiting or find a used one but those are under $1000. Otherwise keep hammering away with what you're doing, it's clearly working for you right now.
