Trap doors are considered solid blocks. With water, lava and any other thing, it cannot pass, thus the Pillager cannot escape.

To be fair friendly pillagers are kinda great which means less raids, soo... is that an IQ loss or IQ gained

Pillagers we're never coded to kill sheep, as they're not an enemy. • In the seventh one, pillagers just like every other mob don't understand totems of undying. • In the eighth one, pillagers aren't coded to dodge or avoid pressure plates. • In the ninth one, pillagers aren't coded to avoid any enemies. I am afraid nicknaming the one 'johnny' makes them hostile towards all mobs, it has nothing to do with their natural programming but instead changed programming from player interaction so seeing as you messed with that challenge, essentially cheating, their IQ is actually 190.
