In the Netherlands we have something like this without the wrap, so basically just a layered dish with shawarma, fries, cheese and garlic sauce. We call it a “kapsalon” (which is weird because that’s the Dutch word for hair salon, idk either 🤷‍♀️) and it is usually served at Turkish kebab or shawarma places. Veeeery popular meal to order at 4AM after clubbing/going out here, haha

Fries are traditionally put in gyros in Greece! That is how I always have mine since I studied abroad there many years ago.

My MIL makes a variation of “Dorito Lasagna” that she calls Dorito Pie. Allegedly it was created when my BIL was running XC in high school and needed to eat a ton of calories. It is just Doritos, chili, and shredded cheese layered like a lasagna. It is so good and the complete opposite of healthy.

THAT IS NOT A SHAWARMA. From someone who has shawarmas a lot (maybe to much 🥺) it's not one cause they are completely wrapped up and you do not use naan bread there is proper shawarma bread and you DON'T PUT FRIES IN A SHAWARMA BTW I live in pakistan where you eat shawarmas A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a MUCH better way to make that Doritos chicken casserole!!! Take out the velveeta (do shredded cheddar cheese instead), add a mix of 1 can each of rotel, cream of chicken, and cream of mushroom with onion powder and garlic powder (take out the onions and jalapeños), and layer with the chicken and Doritos like that. We also do bigger pieces of chips bc it gives it more texture. Also don’t have to do the broth since you do the soups.

Growing up in Western Australia, we would have milk arrowroot cookies (though we call them biscuits) with a smear of butter on them. The biscuits themselves are very plain, not overly sugary /sweet and the type that we also dunk in tea or coffee. But they are super yummy with butter on them!

That salad was the reason people don’t think salads are good. Salads can be amazing. Beans, roasted veggies, pickled veggies, pico, homemade salsa or chutney, fruit, nuts, seeds, you can put anything in a salad and make it amazing and something to look forward to.

You should look up the Dutch dish 'Kapsalon'. It translates to hairdresser or hairsalon, but it is similar to the Bella Hadid recipe.

Shawarmas in many Arab countries like Saudi Arabia have fries in them. I lived in Bahrain but I don’t remember fries in their shawarma. Either way, so yum!

Doritos crusted chicken - a childhood staple of mine, we call it taco chicken. Mix some taco seasoning with egg, coat the chicken breast, then coat with Doritos. So good 😋

So...funny story. I wanted to try the shawarma recipe with my husband. I prepared it and we both tried the (store bought) tzatziki before i slathered it on our naan. Well...the sauce/dip I got had nuts in it and my husband is allergic! See. I hadn't thought to check the ingredients for nuts because Rachel can't have nuts so I thought we were safe. 😫 Whoops! Is it normal for tzatziki to have nuts in it? I bought a different one with no nuts, but I didn't even think I had to check!
