Interesting video. This is exactly what I'm struggling with. One thing that surprises me, is that expensive and well-known tools like Ahrefs seem to use backlinks only to determine what the KD score is, whereas other tools use other factors like on-page content quality as well. I somehow feel like Ahrefs KD score is not that advanced and perhaps inaccurate because of that. What are your thoughts on this? The issue I'm having, is that I try to build a website but the different keyword tools are so far off (some give a score of 5-15 and others 50-75), so it makes it hard to determine what's right or wrong. I usually look at the SERPs myself to see how competitive they are, based on DA and such. But it's quite time-consuming to do this.
I think you're spot on. For some reason, the top paid SEO tools mainly analyze backlinks, although Google stated many times that this isn't a significant ranking factor. As for the tools, I see that too. From Mozzarellas, to Ubersuggest, Semrush, all different numbers. I think the process of choosing the right keyword is more intuitive than it is technical. Like you said, go through the SERP's yourself, that's the best thing you can do. That, on top of creating unique content, using infographics, catchy titles. And honestly, it's about right place, right time. For every 10-15 blogs, I have one that explodes. So you have to be creative and use intuition. SEO is not an exact science. 😁

Awesome video. There are a lot of keyword research tools to choose from and it makes it overwhelming for people that are looking for “the best” one. But it’s like you said, it’s about understanding the basics of SEO. There’s different algorithmic factors that come in to play with these tools. It’s best to just get your hands dirty, experiment, and see what works!
I have suspicions Neil Patel cranks up his search volume on his tool because it's more enjoyable to use a tool showing high volume if you want to find opportunities. I could be wrong, but it's very possible. (Also if a keyword looks too difficult maybe you should hire Neil's agency eh? :-))
It depends what you need. If it’s for just for keyword research, it’s a decent option. If you need technical SEO as well then Ahrefs is better but the basic version costs double.

Not that I know of but I use ChatGPT for SERP analysis. For content gap there are plenty of tools like keyword density checker. If you google that you’ll find a bunch of free tools
Honestly it's okay. Good for the price. It's using data from MOZ for things like domain authority, and Google Keyword Planner for search volume. So in that aspect, it seems to me it's more current than say SEMRush or Ahrefs. Pros - Dashboard show content ideas, tracks rankings for 100's of keywords, up to 5 projects (websites), the technical SEO is pretty good (mainly backlinks checker), good for competitive research. Cons - Can only search 3 keywords at a time, lack of 'question' suggestions, keyword difficulty score seems high on most keywords.
@@TheSEOArchitect I have the pro version and the lifetime deal so no monthly charges, the pro version allows for up to 150 keyword searches a day and not the daily 3 the free version allows.
@@Digitalcataloghub it might not matter for you. But I’ll usually make a large list of keywords in excel. If I have 20 keywords I want to check, I have to check them 3 at a time in Ubersuggest
