Rejected by the red neck sharpener……😉 Fun fact: People have used Chuck Norris’s arms to sharpen their knives……✌️I hope that’s not the stump being used as the balance tester……🥴
I have this. It has a rat tail tang. The tang of mine broke when i accidentally lied down on it. If you'd only use that for sticking boar then i approve of it. Other than that...😒
Thanks Bryan. Love the Chuck Norris facts. Knife looks deadly like the British Comando Knife or the Applegate blade. Don't think I would let a kid have it.
Thanks for giving this a straight up, unbiased review. You showed the pros and cons of this item. It is up to each viewer to decide if it would fit into his/her personal plan or strategy for general use, or survival. Would have made a very long video, but I wonder if it's possible to sharpen this up to acceptable level, and how long it would hold an edge when in use. For the quoted price, folks might want to answer these questions on their own. Good job...fun review!😃👍👍👍
Daggers are a killing weapon. They're not supposed to have sharp edges. They are " not " a survival knife or a camping knife. That said, the dagger I carry is a cold steel wasp.
@@BrianDuffie It was also so that the blade was in line with the forearm - fencers bend the back of their blade slightly so that the blade lines up with the forearm, for the same reason. Daggers with sharpened edges, like the Gerber and the SOG Pentagon, product worse wounds because the edge cuts arteries and blood vessels rather than pushing them aside when thrust into a body (same reason a broad head on an arrow has razor sharp edges as well as a sharp point).
That has happened with every one of my “Cheapest on Amazon” videos. I think their algorithm must bump the price up after so many sales or views or something. I think it would be interesting to check back in a while and see if the price drops back down.
Great video! You tested an insulation knife once, you might want to look at a garden knife. I didn’t know they existed until I saw a YT video about a man who entered a couple’s house in FL using a ruse, then pulled a gun and shot the wife in the face. The husband grabbed a garden knife with a 7 inch blade and cut the attacker “in pieces” as a deputy said, killing him and stopping a long time felon who had been in prison many times. The wife is alive but the deputy said to pray for her, so I guess she is in bad shape, I looked up “garden knives” and I was shocked - they are double edged daggers serrated on one side, 7” blades, with one flat side curved for scooping. They run around $40. Deadly looking.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Yes, they are. I think they are a Japanese design, which I find strange because it is my understanding the the Japanese have to register every knife 6” or longer, even kitchen knives.
The part you weren't sure what it's called (the tang between the handle and blade) is actually called a ricasso, surprised it held up lol but it did 🤣.
To make another correction to your misinformation: During feudal times, hunting knives were the heavy, multi-use daggers that knights, feudal lords, and the more important men carried. Serfs were allowed small, single-edged blades. They weren't hunting knives because the lord owned the game animals. Think of the serf's knives as poacher's blades.
When I click the Amazon link it shows a price of $19.99 The Cold Steel Sure balance thrower is a few dollars cheaper by a few dollars. You're spot on about the crooked handle, I can see it on my phone.
