Tutorial starts at 4:30. I have these same rollers and they work much better with the wire pins. Also if your hair is one length they won’t curl but give you volume. When I layered my hair I got really nice curl.

¡Hola Mami! You’re not using them correctly. Lol! 🤗 I use thiese and my hair is thick. They are great for travel and busy business women. However, you have to use them correctly. You have to roll them “under” instead of “over” the barrels or they want secure. My set has a clamp lined with metal and my hair comes out super curly and full of volume and just a few minutes. I have two sets and use smaller sections. Only leave in until they cool down, like 10 min.

any videos you recommend? all the tutorials i’m watching show the same way to use these, which looks like rolling over the the barrel, not under like you say.

You must curl "under" the strand not over with rollers to get the "vintage" volume at the roots.

You should not straighten your hair just blow out your hair and re try it you will get much better results

I’ve used hot rollers forever on my thick wavy hair. I alternate rolling them under and over, and use bigger rollers on the top and bottom sections, smaller rollers in the middle section for volume. I only leave them in for ten minutes. It took a little practice but once I had it down it comes out fantastic. Sometimes I watch you tubers go through the whole dry straight and curling wand process (which I do sometimes for a smaller curl look), and I want them to know the ease of a good hot roller set.

@@lauragoldfarb9808 I’ve been using the same Conair Insant Heat set for over a decade and it’s still going strong. I use the large and medium rollers for a soft, modern curl. Love it! I’m curious to try the set Julissa is demonstrating, for more of a blowout look than curls.

Hey girl, as someone else has commented, hot rollers are meant to be rolled under, it gives more volume, a better set and the clips won’t fall off. I used to use them as a kid because I was too squirmy for my mom to use a curling iron on me. Try again!

We have the same hair type and this is my go-to method. I don't like having stick straight hair, so when I decide to put heat on my curls, I first get the roots and a couple inches with the flat iron then put sections in rollers. I only leave the rollers in for like, 5 minutes. And I get voluminous smooth hair with less heat than if I flat ironed it all. The metal pins work better than the plastic claws to hold the curler.

I agree with you,you should buy more rollers and do more section.couse you have alot of hair and is long. I will love for you to try the Sleep Styler Rollers. Oh poor Julissa 😢, I felt so sorry for you when you took all that time to put the rollers in and left them in for an hour! For a little bit of volume!! That’s it!! I bet that it didn’t last long neither!? You could use a large wand and get big bouncy curls and waves in 20-30 minutes darling. I’m so sorry but it’s a big #fail for me 👎

@@JulissaGuillen To get vintage volume with curlers, you must curl "under" the strand, not over like you did. There are tutorials on the internet if you want on how to do roller sets.

I never comment anything but! I’ve had similar hair to yours in the past (it’s gotten just wavy over the years) and I’ve used these. Because our hair is so heavy and long, for me to get any sort of curl, I’ve only ever gotten that look with the smaller hot rollers. The big ones, and big curling irons, my hair is always too heavy for and turns into a nice looking blowout. But if I ever want the actual curls then I have to do the smaller barrels and the smaller rolls! I’ve used 18-20 hot rollers at a time before! Your hair looks great though! 💚

You’re supposed to heat them until the red light turns white, then (at least on the instructions) you only have to wait like 10 minutes for curls :)

You can buy extra rollers. They can be heating while some of the others are on your head.

You need to put product in your hair before putting in the rollers. Also roll away from the face or downwards.

I find that the closer the claw clip is to the root of the hair the better and to lightly spray before applying the roller and once they are all in is best

You need more rollers for your hair. It is thick. And spray with hairspray first before you put the rollers in. Gives the curls more staying powers.
