15 seconds into the video and my 10yo daughter corrected you by saying "that's the BK18". I love my girl lol

Lol that’s awesome. Maybe she’ll have her own channel one of these days. My youngest daughter is into as well. I find my knives on her desk daily. She takes care of them too. She’s pretty good with it.🤣🍻

Lmao Ikr! Was hoping to film a few more but I ran out of time. Hopefully I can get them done soon because I have about 30 others not including all the folders that need some camera time. Thanks for watching as always! 🍻

Hello Tier 1 Gear, I came across your review to learn more about the BK-18 because I just bought the tan version. Your review presentation is very informative and well though out. I own several Becker knives for my camping needs and every day carry. I really like your cutting demonstration on the different examples you used. The only thing I would touched on in your review is the sheath. Usually the sheath is what a lot people complain about when they buy a new knife. The Becker BK-18 sheath is one of the best things about the knife because it's made in the USA and well thought out. Thank you for sharing your review for all us. A wise man once told me a man can never own to many knives. Also check out the Tops Cut 4.0 I just bought that recently.

Very cool! Much appreciated too btw. You know, I’ve considered revisiting this knife for a new video and hitting more on how the sheath has held up. Mine was a bit stiff at first and I figured I’d have to replace it at some point but after removing the traction coating, it made it that micron thinner needed for it to fit the sheath perfectly. Since then I never had to replace it. Also the nylon dangler part really just floats on the hip. It doesn’t bounce around but still has decent flexibility. I agree it’s definitely well thought out. I’ve actually had some weird health issues lately but I’m looking to get back into doing the testing for future videos. Which is already in the works a I type. 🍻👊🏼

@@Tier1GearEDCReviews Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm going to get some super fine wet/dry sand paper and lightly smooth the texturing first to cut the drag down. I also changed the handle scales to micarta. Hope your feeling better and I will be looking forward to your next video. Be safe during these trouble times going on in the world.
@Tier1GearEDCReviews
@Tier1GearEDCReviews 3 года назад
Thanks man! Yeah that would look good as well as decrease drag. Gives it that battle worn look on all the bevels. I actually just did that to a black mora companion. The high polished 14c28n shines through perfectly on it.🍻

It really is... I've since removed the traction coating and swapped the scales out with some TKC BK16 scales. It looks and feels so much better now. More so than it already did before. I'm just waiting for the Kydex to arrive now. I can't wait to see it all together now..🍻

@@REAPERMILITIAOUTDOORS Smokey mountain has them on-sale for $69 Right now bro 👍 That's freaking killer deal for what ya get imo. After all these years I've went back to 1095hc , I love USA 1095. I picked up a Tops Brakimo 10 months ago..HOLY CRAP is my opinion 🤩 I think its the closest knife to meet survival and bushcraft right in the middle. I love it. Handle is a bit thin at first but , with lots of use it feels natural in my hand now.

I totally agree with you there...1095 is a great steel and my Tops SXS runs circles around my 3v Leuku. Their differential heat treat makes that steel indestructible. Although I do like Tops' 154cm better... The 1095 is definitely no slack.

Well.. She passed the test imo. That copper drip pad really did a number on that edge, especially after everything else. But... A few passes across the BlackFox sharpener cleaned it right up and it's now back to ball shaving sharp.Btw a few things were omitted because of how long the video was.. Anyway.. Again thanks to all my viewers so far and I hope you all enjoyed. See you on the next one!

If you have the worksharp guided field sharpener, is this knife difficult to sharpen with it? I'm concerned that the blade shape may make the knife difficult to sharpen
@Tier1GearEDCReviews
@Tier1GearEDCReviews 4 года назад
Nope.. any type of ceramic works awesome on it. Just sometimes you may have to meticulously start at the tip on a couple of passes... But that's only if it's a shorter piece ceramic really. It shouldn't be a problem though with the WS field sharpener. It's a great blade though. I'm pretty impressed with it anyway lol 👊🍻🙏

would you consider this your best overall knife? most uses, most likely to take with you outdoors?
@Tier1GearEDCReviews
@Tier1GearEDCReviews 3 года назад
No. But if it's all I had, I would be doing pretty good for myself. Once I removed the traction coating it made this knife soooooo much better. But my #1 go to knife would be the Tops SXS. It doesn't do just 1 thing perfectly... it does a lot of things well. It chops, slices, peels, saws and even doubles as a spear. If you're looking for 1 good knife. The Tops SXS is unbeatable.

@@Tier1GearEDCReviews have you checked out the kabar heavy duty warthog, or the tops apache falcon? I have this bk18 but in peanut butter color lol I hit the coating with sand paper to smooth it and it made a difference then I used a spyderco ceramic on it then a knives plus strop and it's stupidly sharp!!!

I was only a couple months out the hospital then. I had a bacterial infection I got from being outdoors most my life that went unchecked and it literally almost killed me. One of the 10 billion side effects was fogginess and sudden confusion so I'm having to basically re train my brain to talk and think at the same time. It was rough and I'm still healing but that's kinda why I started the channel. I can't do a lot of the stuff I used to do at the moment so I had to find something to do with my time till I'm 100% again. Thanks for watching. 🍻

I literally just seen Keelans comment from last year because of your comment lol. But yeah tbh we’re not entirely sure. I started feeling bad one day about 6 years ago and dealt with it for almost 4 years before it progressively got worse and almost killed me. I was in and out of specialist the whole time and nobody could find anything wrong until I got lucky one day. Some awesome female doctor from the place I went suggested getting checked for H-Pylori which I ended up testing positive for. It was basically turning into stomach cancer. But was spread everywhere. I literally don’t remember most of it. Almost 2 years of my life is a blur. Luckily she found it when she did because it was draining the life out of me. Apparently a lot of people in my area has been testing positive for it lately and they think it’s coming from the local waterways. I live in south Mississippi at the mouth of the Mississippi River. So all those pesticides and chemicals coming from all the farming up river has completely polluted everything around here. It’s all speculation at this point and I’ll probably never know the actual cause but I used to camp and fish on the banks of many of the rivers and streams down here so that’s what the doctors think. It’s definitely been an experience that’s for sure.
