...had my fitting yesterday, find it odd that he only hit the GT3 with the upgraded shaft, I did the same, hit it really bad so went on to the GT2...was about the go GT2 with the upgraded then ask if I could hit the GT3 with the HZRDUS Black and hit my three best drives, so glad I hit the GT 3 10 Degree with the HZRDUS 5G 60G...60 years old, 93 MPH swing speed...45 inch length..got about 10-13 yards farther than my 5 year old TM M2 9 degree....
I think I could go without hearing spin, launch, weight distribution and all the other sales pitch terms. What I didn't hear were carry numbers, accuracy and probably most important, does the GT go farther than previous drivers
I’m sorry, but club fitting is now about distance. It is about playing to your strengths and strengthening your weaknesses. Spin, launch, and decent are basically all you need to determine a good fitting. Those three, if fit correctly will determine where and how far your ball goes on a consistent basis. Hence the 3 D’s comment at the beginning of the video. Distance, Decent, and Dispersion.
SO MANY would benefit from cutting down their driver. Even Scottie Scheffler hits a 45” driver I personally have a 44” fairway finder that might cost me 10 yd, but probably stays 10 yds more online too. Even at ~120 mph swing speed, I’d rather hit fairways than bombs
@BigDawgCAM I totally agree with you 👍 buddy. Maybe you could also explain to him that he doesn't swing fast enough for a Xtra stiff shaft. He always puts in a that flex of shaft and you can see his swing and shot pattern that he is always on the right side of the fairway meaning the rough. Oh well the guy doesn't listen but I do agree with you that he should play a 44 inch driver shaft and not extra stiff shaft. 😉
Actually they are not. If you are referring to MOI that is. 10K MOI was actually achieved in like 2004 with the square Nike driver, but as well all know that thing sucked. Titleists innovation is not focused on MOI as MOI is a direct competitor of speed. GT is all about reach high speed levels while still keeping you in the fairway… hence the speed ring comment around 12-14 minute mark.
I went down that path thinking X would keep me in Fw. Without working on my tempo. I’m 105-108 ss. I much prefer a 7s shaft. He needs to work on his transition tempo and give the stiff shaft time to load and kick- punch 🥊 for him at impact.
@@brandonmackay9878I agree with you and this guy swings a Xtra stiff shaft. How do you figure this out. Please tell the guy that he doesn't need a Xtra stiff shaft.
