Testing the GNSS GeoMax Zenith 60, after the latest firmware update.
Upon receiving the latest version of the software, A-GEO conducted tests in the forest area, where very reliable and accurate measurements were received.
The LatPOS CORS network with all available satellites in the territory of Latvia (GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, GALILEO) was used for receiving RTK correction.
GNSS antenna - GeoMax Zenith 60, IMU, LTE version
Field controller - Samsung TAB Active
Field software - X-PAD Survey GNSS
Firmware version:
- Instrument firmware v22-05-12
- Tracking firmware v7.813

Is the imu system useful in the forest, with more trees, as in the movie? Is it better to turn it off in the forest because it only disturbs?

If you want to use IMU, you need very good RTK with high accuracy. In the forest 🌳 measuring tree trunk with GNSS not the best way to get a centre of the tree. Only if you use offset and know exactly where to put it.

All depends what project you have, GeoMax Zenith 60 with new firmwares has good results. Also you can use it as X-POLE solution.

@@a-geo Still better than s**t Leica GS18 - only problems, tilt does not hold not even 2 sec after i try to turn it on, must use option rtkx but takes 30 sec to tun it on!! 2 weeks ago - 20 sats with rtkx drop to 5 sats with 30-40cm accuracy in forrest. 2 Days later tried with Trimble r12i - over 20 sats with 4cm accuracy.

@@a-geo GS18 costs 2x than Zenith, in forrest - turn on tilt and wait for at least rtkx with 20-30cm accuracy, when get rtkx, tilt turns off and when try turn on tilt, rtkx goes to float with 2m accuracy, even with latest firmware. If have enough money i would use hammer. It is very bad joke from Leica when very expensive gnss does not work. Trying 10 sec to turn on tilt and after 3 sec tilt turns it down and after 3 times i get angry. So why do they something when they don´t know to do it?
