Great review 👏 im looking for a laser engraver and you convinced me with this one 👌 does it need to be connected to a computer or a phone until it finishes or can i send the job to it and it will stop when finished? thanks
Loved the review, thanks. I noticed when you were cutting you had a piece of aluminum under the piece being cut. Do we/should we actually be looking at one of the honeycomb bases when getting into more production? Thanks
Thank you. Yea I just use one of the pans that goes in the bottom of your oven. It catches anything that drops and prevents you from burning into anything below it.
I enjoyed the review and I appreciate the head-to-head comparison with the 10w Xtool D1. I had already liked and subscribed when you mentioned you were in the Navy, so I also want to thank you for your service. Looking forward to your future videos.
Wish they'd make these a bit bigger. Really want to cut full 20" x 30" pieces of foam board. Speaking of which, does this cut white foam board, or struggle like some other diode laser models? I don't want to spend thousands to do something so simple.
hey man, when is the next video coming out with the Ortur Laser Master 3 vs Xtool D1 ? im in the market and really want to buy one of these. i think i could have a lot of fun with one. whats your personal opinion on what one to get?
Great video, thank you. I purchased the ortur laser master 3 and the extension. Just put it together without any problems. I did purchase a 400mmX600mm and a 400mmX850mm honeycomb bed. I noticed you didn't use a honeycomb bed. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using one? My hobby is building balsa RC airplanes and this laser cutter will be a great tool for cutting out parts.
Awesome. I wouldn’t mind having the extension on mine. The honeycomb just makes it easier for cutting through stuff. There’s nothing behind it to have to cut into.
Please do full review of the comparison between xtool d1 10w and Ortur master 3. I'm struggling to decide between these two machines as right now their are at the same price.
Overall, so what's your choice on the lasers you have reviewed. I'm on the fence on Ortur laser master 3 and the Xtool. Thanks for all your videos. I too was in the Navy 1976-1980
Do you know if the original YRR 1, can be used on this new laser? Thanks for a great demo of the lasers quality in build of the laser and its results in cutting and engraving.
Did you have firmware issues? I just spent over an hour with Gil trying to get mine sorted out. It looks like it works well according to your video. Nice work!
Curious of your recommendation between this and the xtool. I have a shapeoko 4 xxl and have learned so much from your videos. I would primarily be using it to engrave cutting boards and similar products as well as cutting 1/4 mdf letters and designs that are too small to do on the CNC.
Thanks. I thought that at first too, but now that I’ve used it I can’t think of any reason why I would have something high enough to hit there. They will have legs that raise it for thicker objects, or you can just use cans if finish like me haha. You would just raise the machine up and lower the laser to focus it.
I just put mine together. I can't get Lightburn to recognize the new laser. Did you download anything else to get it running? Or set it up just like the LM2?
Can ANY of these budget lasers cut 0.5 aluminium? I'm wishing to cut 0.5 mm holes along the edge of an A4 sheet of (white painted) aluminium, to form the cover of a journal.
I haven’t done a video on it, but I have compared them. The LM3 is similar build quality. I like that it has built in limit switches. That’s something the D1 is missing. It’s also quite a bit faster than the D1. And their app works very well if you want to use it that way.
@@ChrisPowellFSD Well I have the 2 Pro, I have the 10 watt head coming Wednesday. I want to start making kids toys and I can't keep the co2 laser in the garage, it would freeze.
On your recommendation, I’m looking at purchasing this laser. However, I haven’t been able to find any reliable information on cutting mdf. In your experience, how fast will it cut 1/4” mdf?
That was a very informative video. Thanks for that, because I have been wondering whether I should get one, and now it seems like I will. I had one big question, namely does it come with something to place underneath it to protect your desk/table from the laser, or does that need to be a separate purchase?
You’re going to need a fiber laser for that. That’s on my want list too. These diode lasers can discolor stainless, or remove coatings like anodizing, but can’t engrave metal.
@@ChrisPowellFSD Thank you, I thought not, but I have a huge pile of marble slabs just waiting to do something with. An Inch thick, 2 feet by 3 feet in size, in all colours and patterns. Seems a shame to leave them outside doing nothing. Must have nearly 100 units.
@@Baron-Bagaten o wow. Buy a small cnc router and use a diamond drag bit. You could probably get away with a lower end machine because it isn’t actually cutting through the material, just dragging along the surface.
@@ChrisPowellFSD I do have one of those larger Ryobi Router's, would that be OK do you think ?. Also, have you any idea on how long a diamond drag bit would last for ?. Thank you for your advice.
yo compre ese cabezal y la verdad es impresionante un dibujo de 8 horas ahora me sale en 43 minutos y asta tube que nerfiar la maquina para que no salga tan intenso 😍🥰
Most users in the forums, on Facebook and even Ortur themselves, give speeds in millimeters, not inches. There's no right or wrong, but millimeters seems to be way more common when posting or asking people about their settings. Just sayin'.
