Here I will test 3 important parameters of the onboard AC charger in Volkswagen e-up (It should be the same with Seat Mii electric or Skoda Citigo iv): charging speed, power lost and battery increase. I hope you will learn something, I did.

Very interesting!! Thanks!! Could you do the same test with your home-chargerer that works at 2kwh? I would like also to know the battery temperature while you're charging in a DC station. Thanks again!!😉

Very informative video. Cold you try 15 to 60% one Day? I would like to ser the average in kW PR hour. I think only 4 kW sad because above 60% IT stats slowing down. Cold be interesting to see how close to 7 kW PR hour 15-60% charging is, and maybe when power starts to fall.

Can you see under history 2, 3... See prevoius chargings? I have ordered a stock car and its already been half a year standing, would be nice to see if battery was drained to 0 during this period of time.

Charging at 4 kW (instead of the maximum 7.4 kW) is high enough to suggest that the EVSE was three-phase (of which two were used), but low enough to suggest that the current was somehow limited to 9 A (by EVPoint and not the car, presumably).

@@tedonash2681 Aha, makes sense. It would be nice to see the charge curve (maybe also the temperature) from the OBD logs (ideally for a full 0 to 100 % charge if possible). I fully charge my E-Up in 5:15 Hours from nearly zero to 100%. There must be a limit on the Amperes.

Thanks a bunch for that insight! That is a very typical charging loss with many EVs, I would say. Was the "ignition" on while charging? If yes, what extra draw would that result in? N.B.: As many will comment, in the evaluation part you would have to switch power and energy units.

@Tedo Nash can you explain why when using DC fast charging at 95% charged it shows 135km range and when using AC slow charge it shows around 90km range

No I really can't explain many of Volkswagen mistakes in the software. From my point of view it shouldn't have any difference.

In the Live data from the Hybrid Battery history you can see the counter for kilowatt hour charge and discharge. Isn't the difference between those 2 values a power loss?

I think the amount of power charged is the one taken from grid and the amount that is discharge is the power that is given to the motor or other car electronics.

@@tedonash2681 I checked it today, the counter for kilowatt hour charge is summary of charging from the charging stations and from breaking with the electric motor.

when you charge the batteries with the cable from home and the power fails and then comes back. does the charging stop and then restart or does it stop and does not restart?

To be honest I haven't noticed that but if I have to bet I will go for resume charging.

@@tedonash2681 Then I think I have some problems. because recharging does not restart and the charger goes into error. i have a skoda citigo-e.

12,5% comes close to the losses of the e-golf too. not great, not bad ... at least ac charging is here 25% cheaper ...
