If Tarkov has taught me anything, it's that using an SKS with iron sights is total ass. Using a taped on scope makes sense in that regard.

I kept hearing 500 yards and thought that was pretty wishful thinking with an SKS, but 90 yards, yeah, that's a very easy shot.

Frankly, the irons would have been a better choice at that range. It's not Call of Duty; irons are good for torso size targets out to about 500 yards if you actually practice with them at that range. Heck, if you invest in some nice irons like on my AR-15, I can even manage fairly consistent shots on 9" plates at 450 yards. Scope definitely helps a ton past 350 yards, but mastering irons is a good marksmanship skill to learn, especially how to zero irons. Many principles of marksmanship that you learn with irons translate over to scoped optics. It blows my mind the dude taped his optic on, though. I guess if you're that ignorant about marksmanship, you're also that confident. Guy was yodeling from atop Mt. Stupid in the Dunning-Kruger scale.
