Swavy Curly Courtney on RU-vid has wavy hair, thus tons of tutorials. Mel has coily hair, so wavy isn't her thing much. She does have some videos on her cousins that have wavy hair. But going with a RU-vidr that has wavy hair is best.

**Side note! Yesterday I watched a livestream with Glam Girl Gabby and Blowout Professor; two other channels I follow religiously like yours. You were brought up by several viewers during the stream because Gabby and Chris do not know curly hair. Gabby would like you to join them for a livestream one day and we were all here for it! It would be so great if you and Amanda could be present to represent us and teach them some new things, especially as Gabby has naturally wavy hair that she does not feel good about (but I think is beautiful the times she has styled it wavy). You could give her great tips to style her natural waves 🙂

I could have sworn you had reviewed that tool before LOL. To me the Denman curls looked better on everyone. Never saw that fine tooth comb coil that was excellent. Yes to the finger coil livestream. My curls tend to clump so much if I use these methods that I have to spend so much time separating them too so they are a no go for me. Your ribbon curl method is my go to now and I always get the best results ... I will forever be in your debt for that 🙂

Yes!! That’s what I thought was so crazy as a little girl in the 80s I hated my curly hair and my mom would blow it out but it was curly at the roots still but since I didn’t style like I do now my curls were frizzy and poofy and crazy and my mom used a Denman brush on her bob straight hair her entire life since 78 lol and I had no clue I could have used it on my curls 😂😂 seriously when I first saw you using the denman brush I was like WHAT?? That’s my mom’s 1970’s hair brush?!!! It’s not for curls 😮😮❤. And then I stole her denman brush 6 years ago lol her 30 year old Denman brush I can’t believe it 😅😂😂❤❤

I was a kid in the 70’s and teen in the 80’s and had one of those bushes too. It was just a cheap brush from the 5 & dime back then lol wish I would’ve known back then how I could’ve used it on my curly hair instead of my mom drying it straight and pulling tons of it out because of the tangles. At least the curls helped make my feathered style easier to do with a round brush as a teen

Do you think one is better than the other for thinner hair? I’ve learned my hair has a natural texture but am still learning which lightweight products to use and how to take care of my thin hair. That is not coily hair in the slightest, it’s like 3c. These reviews are not helpful for people with type 4 hair because it doesn’t look anything like the head you’re demonstrating on.

I cheaper out and got the Amazon dinglehopper. I feel like the little “teeth” on the sticks grab the hair and pull at it more when trying to roll in. Much prefer the bounce curl brush!!!

Very good! I don't think I will purchase one of those hair weapons but I'll certainly try to make better use of the Denman (if I am not too lazy and I can master the technique 🤔). Tip: maybe avoid wearing black when demonstrating on dark hair as it was difficult to see (or are my eyes not working??)... ❤

I love how the hair looks! I think the denman brush does a good enough/similar enough job to not need both if you don’t have the money. Have you looked into the split end trimmers? I really love the idea but I don’t know if they are actually good to use.

Sadly, both brushes SUCK on my hair! I think my hair is just too thin/low density to be able to handle being brushed lol. The only time my curls/waves actually form, is if it stays a mess straight out of the shower LOL.

This!!! This is the curl wisdom I've desperately needed with resurection-level entertaining humor. Shout out to Usher he had me out of my living room seat jivin'! Question: Type 2 (b? c? I don't know!) hair - what kind of styler do I use??? And please don't say it depends! Extra hold gel (like the in-shower Curlsmith kind)? Regular gel? Mousse? Sculpting cream with hold? Defining cream? Moisturizing cream? Spray? Salt spray? Hair spray? Paste? I finally went curly but can't for the life of me find something that will keep my hair curly for more than 12 hours (I also run my hands through it a lot so...there's that). And then when I diffuse, it's like I can only get it to look good if I hang my head upside down so the curls aren't resting on my face...but I can't do that for an hour lol - how do I get that curl without breaking my back? If you don't have it already, can you make a run down of entering the curly world for the newly-discovered curlies?

I've used the Aubonacci for a long time (2 yrs?) and LOVE IT! It is the only thing that gives my very long, very thick 2c hair a root lift ! I also use it on my face framing layers that are straighter and frizzier otherwise. Personally, I would NEVER buy a fake amazon copy because if I remember correctly, the owner did all the work -- invented and developed the product and went through all the work to get it manufactured, and she deserves the sales! It's not like ripping off some huge corporate conglomerate -- this is stealing from one woman's pocket.

Can we talk about when curly hair goes gray and what the hell (PLEASE HELP) to do with it? It’s has no curl pattern it’s just sticking out everywhere. It’s fragile even more fragile than fine hair. It doesn’t like any of the products previously used. How in the “Where in World is Carmen San Diego?” am I supposed to manage out of control change in texture, porosity, density hair? Your channel is great for so many reasons, but I am at a loss for what to do with these hormone changes and the lack of gray hair help for curly haired women.

How is it that I have gotten to 49 and never knew how to do any of this?! Of all my siblings, I am the only one with the curls of my Jewish grandparents (to give you an idea of the curls). No one has ever shown me how to define my curls and I am guessing it is because they didn’t know how because they never had to deal with them. I am now starting to think that I may really have to coils that I have always wanted but haven’t gotten on top because I have been styling it wrong. My curls underneath (at the nape of my neck) are TIGHT coils. I am going to have to try this and see if that is really my curl pattern. Thank you.

I've been trying the denman brush technique (i have type 2 hair and i'm curious) and i'm really struggling. It seems like either the ends of my hair get stuck in the brush, or, if they manage to come out, the whole curl falls off the handle immediately before it's fully wrapped up. Any tips?

I think that rolling comb Bush is not worth the energy. I remembered you use to do ribbon curls vertically but now do them horizontally on your Bob. Is horizontally better? I also feel it takes too long to dry your hair with this technique. Thanks for the tutorial!

Thank you for the response about wetting your hair everyday. I am learning this curly journey and find the curls do NOT stay over night. I use a bonnet to sleep protecting it that way. So I thought it was okay to spray and diffuse your hair everyday then fully wash on day 3/4

So if you dont wet refresh and i get the reason why…. Whats a 2ab wavy girl to do?? I sleep protect but girl when i get up😳cant just shake and go. Refresh is my bugga booooooo!!! But love you and your new cut is so freaking good on you. I mean you are beautiful, but that hait took you to another level.
