I was reading an article from Topaz that the Topaz Photo AI will be their main marketing program for most users and that Topaz Gigapixel AI will eventually be targeted more toward mobile users, targeting the general public.
I own the four Topaz options and understand having to try the different options within a program but have never felt comfortable deciding when to start with Photo AI and when to use Sharpen AI etc. instead. I never had used Gigapixel at 1x and mostly have used it to resurrect small parts of images using 4-6x. I do believe the s/w is great but there needs to be a better way to find the path to a result worth having. Since you did no upsizing here, did you try comparing results from another or a combination of the others. Photo AI can upscale but my main use for it has been on large images from 24 to 32 mp originals. I frequently have selected Sharpen over Photo for the speed advantage (not wasting time looking for faces and subjects when I know the image is not a candidate for those features).
What utility might Gigapixel have for scanned transparencies? I have Denoise and Sharpen but these don’t seem tailor made for scanning film though sometimes I might use one or the other.
