Are Self Defense Hacks a thing? Icy Mike from @hard2hurt and I test out Troom Trooms So called "life saving" Self Defense Hacks and Tricks... This should be fun.
All jokes aside, we need to change the way women are treated, marketed to and portrayed in the self defense industry. That is the worst part of these things.
That's why i like when you do videos with women, cause you teach real life scenarios that'll hopefully motivate other women and show them they can do it too🙌🙌🙌🙌
As a guy with long hair I have some tips for Mike because he seems to wear the wig a lot, brush the hair beforehand, tuck it behind his ears but if you're in the wind you have no chance.
@@jamjambo351 That's just one of the many problems with these videos, in order for a technique like that to work the women they're marketing need to have Brian Shaw levels of grip strength (I doubt the average woman has grip strength on the level of the 4x World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw.) Master acrobats might be able to pull off some of these things, but the average person (male or female) would not be able to do that, for the OP it's more of a point where if you're large enough most attackers wouldn't be able to do much if you decided to take them to the ground. But once again grip strength and control of your body comes into play.
"stay climbed"... You mean, keep the position, I assume? Cuz a smaller person prolly would just collapse. But as a trained person, I'd likely do the first few moves in kata wanshu.
Yeah I think it‘s supposed to be based on a technique where you try to force pressure into the person‘s ears this way, damaging their ear drums, which painful and disorientating. I wouldn‘t count on it working reliably enough for every person though, but worst case scenario, a hit in the head is a hit in the head and will still be somewhat disorientating hopefully. 🤷♀️
@@CoachKyleZ kick the groin so the attacker leans forward, maybe even go on his knees like Seth did in the beginning. Just make sure give it some time because the pain can kick in late. You are welcome
This is why my wife trains *with me.* We don't entertain these kinds of fantasy scenarios, we drill and condition and lightly spar. And she knows how to run the hell away.
This is my favorite video on this topic!!! You guys do a good job of breaking it down and trying it practically but also having fun with it. Super entertaining and informative 🤗
BEST Shed Self defence strats ever! From this point in my life onwards, I will address EVEREY shed-related self defence situation in this Sensei Seth approved manner :D My life will be so much easier that way.
These are great. I often wonder if these techniques really work. I also really love the humour, 'Look at all the drugs I have' lol I also appreciate you point out that we're not generally so oblivious to our surroundings and portraying us as so is not right. I have backpacked 6 countries, alone, and found that being aware of my surroundings, and watching out for sketchy situations (the bad dude leaning against the wall looking at his drugs for instance lol) has kept me safe while travelling. Thanks for these videos and for the good natured humour! Luv it! PS, I never know what to do with my hair either...
The wig made it even more amazing and hilarious. I laughed so hard tears are streaming down my face. I can't believe it. Wow! Also I can't believe that these videos exist. This stuff isn't even remotely feasible against a person who is intent on doing real harm and not just making funny faces. Hmmm. Got me thinking.
This poor dude's been training in ballet and dreaming of the Bolshoi since age 4 and thanks to the fall of the Soviet Union he's reduced to "incompetent attacker" in Troom Troom videos J4059-J4073.
Do they have any idea how many repetitions judo players do on a daily basis to be able to somehow grasp the complexity of foot sweets? The chances of a common person doing foot judo techniques successfully are close to none.. no griping, no kuzuchi, just timing, maybe Higoro Cano himself.. lol
Hardly anything in there could be performed by someone without actual martial arts training (which makes the girl in that video sort of even more irresponsible). Well, except maybe the things that make the attacker go "What the ... is going on?!" And for those wondering, this was a joke.
thinking about it. Judo is one of the martial disiplines that would be good self defense for women. anything to put an attacker off balance into the ground quickly so they can run away
@@Marveryn Agreed. Also good for the woman to avoid, as much as possible, being taken to the ground herself (regular sparring needed of course). And yes, weight and strength do matter a lot, but against an untrained oponent, could prove very useful.
I was just thinking that if there was one thing I could tell other women about self-defense it would be that self-defense is not something you can learn in two eight hour classes on a weekend. It is a neverending endeavour for your sake and others' and something to be taken seriously (...but don't forget to have fun).
That music in the background, it's somewhere between Benny Hill and Just for laughs... And that jolly happy voice... How can anyone think that those videos are serious?!
The first one kind of works, as in to, you get to kick someone in the balls. The problem is that at that point she's the assaulter, since you need your "opponent" to just be standing XD
Seth needs a vulnerable looking woman but has IcyMike-a big mean looking bald dude and thinks "He looks to dangerous. I'll put a bloody scalp on him. That'll make him look less scary."
guy: lunges with knife. girl: dodges knife, goes behind attacker, climbs on shoulders, resets position, attacks eyes/neck? Holy infinite action points batman. Where did she get the ability to take five actions in one turn?
I've always said this: ladies, if you want to learn self-defense, take a martial art. Not a self-defense seminar, not some RU-vid guide. Just take a martial art. Edit: And if they have a knife, just give them what they want, or at the very least expect to get cut/stabbed if you actually try to fight that.
Lmao, putting your hands on your face would confuse the attacker, but I did a scenario where the individual had their hands on their face and I punched their knuckles, the individual was myself, I used one hand to hide my face and one to hit my hand, the pain made me drop the hand, if it was being done by me as a hypothetical attacker to somebody else, it could be even harder of course and thus more painful. And there would still be other places they could hit as well, I ran those scenarios. Even though an impact to the hand is far better than to the head, the pain made me drop my hand as I'm not very resistant and it wasn't an actual scenario of desperation, but even then, you could do other things, hit other places.
So to sum it up, the first one only works if you're committing assault. If you're attacking someone that is currently doing nothing to harm you, and just stands there while you're kicking his legs, that's not self defense anymore, that's assault.
Teaching women how to be violent in terms of finishing the fight and how to fight very dirty with guns, knives, rocks etc is the best way to change the stupid self defense industry. Basically military combat mindset/training but no civilians can possibly understand
