Thank you very much for this video!! I am very embarrassed of how much I let myself go, and all of the cots I have been looking at have a three hundred pound weight limit, and makes me feel even worse!! My family and I love to go camping, and you video gives me a better feeling about it!!!!

@@BTROutdoors thx so much for looking. That's what I used to have. And it's BIG. I've been looking for full size to save space. There's nothing worse being in the middle of nowhere with a flat air mattress. Otherwise it was nice.
Thanks for posting both Part 1 and 2. I was looking to buy a new cot to replace my old Slumberjack XL cot and I was down to these 2. This was really helpful.
I have an old cabelas xxl outfitters cot. After talking to Teton I found out they actually made it for cabelas I’ve had it since 2010 and it’s still running strong. I’m getting my son a Teton xxl cot this year.
@@BTROutdoors Ended up purchasing the Teton XXL cot with the Teton sleeping pad.I can't get over how comfortable and well made it is. My wife had to have brain surgery recently and has been sleeping on it each night at home and has been pleased with it as well.
@@chadi7173 That's great, I hope your wife is doing good she will be in our prayers. I love mine Teton and thanks for watching and sending me a message.
@@BTROutdoors She's doing well. We finally got results from Mayo clinic and it was non cancerous. She still hasn't gotten off the cot. I guess this will be a good durability test on the pad!
I bought two of these last weekend based off your reviews. Thanx. I bought the Cabellas. I looked at the Tetons as well. Tit for tat. I overland in a Jeep Gladiator with Davis 10x12 Wall tent. These cots work perfect !
at 12:08, you can see a small bracket with a hook on the long frame, that needs to connect onto the to the big screw on the leg, you will see way less movement after connection.
@@BTROutdoors Great review! Hope to see your next video about adding a tent to the cot. The comparison of these 2 different cot manufacturers is very interesting. Kai Lu's comment about the other small bracket helping to make the Cabela Cot more stable would definitely be worth revisiting; if you make another video with the tent add on? The noise difference while moving around on the cot at night is another important consideration for some people out there. Do you think the Teton companion tent for their cot, would also fit the Cabela's cot?? Looking forward to your next installment on this head to head comparison of the Cabela's vs Teton. Both look like very solid options as far as cots go. Some people might like that all steel 'built like a Ford" construction in the Cabela's cot? Plus, the Cabela's lever arm does appear to have a slight advantage over the pivot arm. Hmmm? We just may have to call it a draw at the end of the day. In regards, to figuring out which one might be better. But I am hoping to choose one of the two cots in the Spring of 2021. God bless and keep enjoying the great outdoors.
Great review. I was torn between the two but I think the Teton seems the better of the two. Note that Teton does sell the topper for their models but they are a bit pricey but they do fit the cot with straps that attach to the cot. I will likely pull the trigger on the Teton XL simply to preserve floor space. Very helpful info....thanks.
i am not sure why your outfitter model is different. i have the outfitter xl model from 2018 and its 100% identical to the teton, red pivot arm and all. but i love the cot! i just need to get the pad that is made for it, as my other pads end up sliding all over the place
Hi, I have a question. I lost the poles to my cabela Xl cot, and cabelas does not sell the poles separately. Teton does sell the poles, but im not sure if they'd fit. Could you tell me if the poles are interchangeable between the two?
I've been through three Coleman Trail head cots. I'll have ripped at the seams on the side and you fall through. I'm looking for a replacement card that won't tear at the seams. I just use it in the back yard for getting sun. Would you recommend the Teton or something else?
Woot I'm liking the tent, with the xxl rain fly, just got it in the mail, and next month ima get the cot, planning on getting two cots if I can, incase my wife wants to go campping, thanks for info , video, on the cot, it convenced me, I used your links to order the tent, and rain fly, I love it, it is super light, and easy to do. Thanks again.ron
I have the Teton combo cot/tent and I love it, don’t forget to get the other longer rainfly from their site, if it rains the rainfly that comes with your tent won’t work. I also have the organizer and the storage hammock from Teton, helps things organized, at hand and dry off the ground. I love mine and my dogs fit well since I’m 5’4”. I highly recommend it, so comfortable, the only con is that there are no pockets in the tent, thus getting the organizer is very helpful.
Is the Teton cot itself as compact as Cabelas? And just the bags are different? What I mean could you put the Teton in the cabelas bag if you wanted to? Reason i ask cause I’m planning on buying the whole tent set up and I’m strapping it all on the back seat of my Harley.
Looks like it will do a domino effect, if you weigh 300 pounds it might rock from top to bottum, and might fall, idk, but looks like it's so high it might fall towards your head. I'm looking for a good cot , but I want one handle my 280 pounds lol
@@BTROutdoors amazing, June 27 1957, born in Alabama, yup I'm gonna get me one soon I hope, in about a month, hard to save money when your money goes on Bill's, I'm on a disability check so cot first, thenbtent, and many few months later a rain fly, that goes to the ground, thanks for reply, hug hug, owe glad your wife goes with you, I'm 35 years faithfully married, my wife would have to have her own cot two lol. Coolbeanies thanks for the video, shalom.
@@BTROutdoors i probably have a defect one because I have only used it about 4 times. I’m reaching out to Teton to see if they can help. But other than that, I really do love the cot. I’m finally able to go camping without waking up with my back hurting.
I have had this cot for about 4 years and in my opinion I think the cot is overrated. The cot sinks more than what it looks like in videos. I am 6'2 (1.88 m)and 260. I am not so happy how it holds me up in the middle. I was hoping for a tighter hold. I might be selling my cot soon. You absolutely need to put a mat on top to hold you up closer to a bed but I realize its a cot.
I love the review, but it needs actual testing. Just standing in one spot, shows me nothing other than you standing on the cot and I get the fabric strength. I want to see people turning over, shifting weight, actually putting the cot to true strength tests. If your scared your gonna mess up a $160.00 cot, then you don’t trust the manufacturers warranty to replace it if you mess it up.
I did that video over 2 years ago, the cots are still holding up fine, I plan on having them for several more years hopefully. I can only give you my review on them, they are comfortable and sturdy and have held up great. They have proven their strength to me, and I am happy with my purchase on both cots. Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching
@@BTROutdoors thank you for the review. Just ordered 2 Tetons. Your review helped. Cabelas seems to be having several bad reviews lately on their material. Tetons warranty can’t be beat. Thanks again
And very glad to hear the Teton is still holding up. That’s good for me. We only camp maybe 4 to 6 times a year usually 3 to 4 nights max. Should be perfect for us
