I was prescribed Tetracycline for an ingrown toenail operation and I developed terrible headaches and benign intracranial hypertension so I could hear my own blood pressure in my ears as a 12 year old, it also put pressure on my optic nerve and neurosurgeons considered drilling a hole in my head to relieve the pressure. My adverse reaction was recorded in medical journals in the early 1980’s in Australia
* i was given many doses of tetracycline as a toddler thru 3rd grade. All my permanent teeth are different shades of yellow, i do not have the gray band. The darker the yellow, they were the last adult teeth to erupt. Several dentists have told me whiteners do not work
Funny, I walk into any doctors office over the years and they look at me and say, you've taken tetracycline. I took it for ancne as a kid. They can still see it by looking at me 30 years later. It's sad. Also my neice had the black bands on her teeth. My sister took retin A and tetracycline in her teen years and had her daughter at 20.
Thank you so much, that was really helpful ( please if you can do videos about chemical synthesis of antibiotics molecules tetracycline or other atb molecules )
The tool to remember that tetracyclines are very well orally absorbed is not so good, since aminoglycosides also bind to 30S, but are only used parenterally.
