This may come as a surprise, but supposedly, the occurrence rate of the line pieces is supposed to be the same as any other piece. So it's not as unlikely as you'd think... if it was random. But that was the whole point of the skit, that it wasn't random, but being determined by a vengeful and angry god.
All I’m thinking about is the poor animator in 2010 working with the small budget who’s just trying to get this done. And everyone’s judging the practicality of the actual game.
I like to think the Tetris God is actually punishing him for not doing the best possible moves. I mean, he used L block to block the line piece's row, he deserved the Line piece right after, and even then he didn't put the Line piece flat to cover the right side or straight to build up the left side, the god was just insisting so the player could redeem on his bad decisions but still didn't take the clue.
Even though there seems to have been pushdown points on every piece, potentially implying a speedrun, the commentary from the spirits seems to indicate that the player was going for tetrises/score
Pretty sure they were just going for a troll God, that won't give the line piece when you need it but will give a whole bunch when you don't. That would make it a score attack.
There's a SUBCULTURE around TETRIS?!?!? woah!! Edit: oh my god they're breaking it down move by move, is this real? Amazing. Edit 2: omg you've got your own lingo too this is priceless!
@@daffquess7006 welp not everyone is familiar with how big of a community tetris has lol up till like a few years ago I didn't either I find it charming that somebody is overjoyed to see how diverse the tetris community is take it from a guy who hasn't played tetris in a year or so xd
@@rulx726 what do you mean not an analysis video half of reaction videos are analysis videos and being pedantic in that way is pointless at best. Also even parodies can be analyzed, there is no reason to act like being parody sudden means there is no insight to be gleaned from it.
As a guideline tetris player, i find that nes tetris is hard. Starting from the movements, finesse is different And i think it's true vice versa because the requirement is different for both type of games xD
honestly thought this person was gonna do an L/J-spin. Some of the BS you can pull off in tetris is absolutely absurd and should by all means be impossible.
All of these bois have their Ph.D. for Tetris and all that. Then there's me who just wants to play the game, that's why I'm watching Tetris videos on youtube.
Y’all I don’t think you got the point of the OG video, I thought it would be fun to watch Tetris players laugh at this funny joke, but instead they’re analyzing the game? It’s not supposed to be analyzed
i've always noticed the bad playing, now as a S3 TGM3 player, even being relatively versed in guideline when watching this back in the day nothing bothered me as much as the inconsistent colours tho, only the gap plug really coming close
Hey, real question: Why haven't I seen nearly as much new content from the older players that were primarily running the Tetris world before Joseph's 2nd World Championship win? Like Harry, Jonas, Quaid, Trey, Jeff, Svavar, etc.? I'm seeing even less of Koryan now and even less of GreenTea...?
That video actually taught mine how to get a bit tricky at tetris. Well opened it, cleared a few local boards for fun. Not actually a great player, like to play Tetris relaxed.
5:47 I love how the first one had a comment, and this one he's already calling it a squiggly LUL 7:25 Same tho; I still don't know how that could ever be possible when it's landing point isn't overlapping the starting point whatsoever, but it works I guess 🤷🏿♀️
Regarding the massive differences between traditional Tetris and what they're showing in this video, a lot of PC tetris clones I saw in the 90s and 2000s either played with the rules or didn't care or pay attention to them.
Mr Scout, I really enjoy your content. I was wondering if I might make a suggestion for a video. I think my Tetris play would be greatly improved by a look at how to utilize pieces in ways that don't necessarily occur to more novice players. I know I'm often watching high skilled players, and I they make placements that i would have overlooked, especially when it comes to burning. Either way, thanks for the videos.
This is rather weird to watch. They shouldn't asses it so much like its a official CTWC game. It was meant as a joke video, should just give their reaction as a viewer instead of analyst
We know it is a joke, but it would be kind of boring to react to it straight. I thought it would be funnier to analyze it as if it were a real game, like channels that analyze movies of their respective profession and comment on if things are realistic or not
I am one of those players who is guilty of doing spins all one direction, But it's because I'm focusing on positionn and thinking ahead more then "faster spin direction" ...I only consider spin direction when I realize that I need to rotate a precise direction for something to go where I want.
