Hi Waltzing Wizard, just come across your channel for about a week now. Love the informative content! I'm about 1 month in playing tetris. Quick question: I've come across your 'how to play fast' video, and lately, I've been focusing on my finesse. Prior to knowing about finesse, I was averaging just below 2 mins, with a PB of 1:35 on 40L. (44% finesse lmao) Now, as I focus on my finesse on 40L, I've been averaging around 2:10-2:20 (with 88%-97% finesse) with a PB of 1:56 (95% finesse). But this was achieved using just tetrises. I was wondering what should I prioritize while practicing my finesse? Working on T-spins or 2-wide combos? Thanks!
quick question on inputting the actual spin. I assume you're doing a fast soft drop. do you buffer the spin somehow? do you wait until the piece bottoms out?
I’m honestly having trouble simply seeing the “T” for the t-spin. I can only sort of set it up when I copy what you do at 11:06. I’ve never been so confused and I’ve been practicing t-spin on PPT for about an hour
hmm maybe just try visualizing some examples in your head to practice before actually playing. it sounds like you’re kinda looking around with the ghost piece to try to find it, but I’m not sure
Wawi Tetris so after practice on sprint (since that is basically the training mode) I can basically see the T-spins now and now I just need to work on my speed because I slow down to think when I see it, but overall still very helpful
i've satrted to play almost 1 month ago, playing sprint everysingle day and cant get to sub 70, so i'm here, frustrated learning Tspin, hopefuly i'll get better soon
i did get to sub 45 very quickly within 3 to 4 months i think, but i did it in the wrong way, i think if you are just starting now, start by going slow an trying to learn finesse, is so important that you do that, otherwise it will be really dificult to unlearn things, so learning to move pieces in the right way from the start is very important. i am at 41 for a loong time now and i just cant get to the sub 40 that i was aiming because of that
Thanks wawi, informative video. I'm at 40l sprint sub 50, usually 70-100 finesse. Should I just go faster and trust my own placements to get used to going 2.5pps+ or do I try to lower my finesse to
Yeah hitting 3 months in 2 days and been bringing the time down pretty steadily. I'm usually messing up my non-main rotations and some hesitation where I move one way then back to what I first thought of. I still don't get how I'm supposed to move up to 3 pps+ Feels like even if I 0 finesse with 101 on my current speed I'd barely scratch 2.5-2.75 pps since that's what I average spike at.
I personally used the finesse error and die option in js.tris and did 0 error 40 line for a while till i dont think a lot while stacking up and now i have like 10 when i try to get fast for my personal record. My first 0 error run took like 4 mins and i was thinking on every piece how to move it effective without looking up the wiki page it helped me alot more than the wiki "only z and s piece killed me alot" now i have about 1:30 with 0 error thats close to my normal pb 1:10
