Rafael Artiga prisoners 1 and 2 has more complex bars, i prefer it over murals but yeah, Mural is just fire the whole song is just bars after bars and the flow is contious asf.
My boy pointed out this line on T&Y "Started at the end, that's the part where you begin." and gave me an idea to play the songs in backwards order. So far it flows a lot better than the regular version. I guess Tetsuo is the forward version and Youth is the backwards version.
the album didn't take a turn. It flows perfectly with the story being told. There's a reason that chopper is the first song after winter, and deliver comes after that. Notice during winter there are no kids outside playing like the other interludes, you pointed out yourself that its darker. Chopper is painting the picture of the worst of the ghetto that lupe grew up in and deliver follows, giving you the consequences
Grom Hellscream Yeah he said that he isn't worried about trying to get new fans. He said this album is specifically for the hardcore fans who love him for his wordplay and other things. And what is even better is he has two projects after this, Skulls and The Cool 2. And he said that Skulls is even better than T&Y and The Cool 2 is even better than Skulls so we have two great albums to look forward to.
Summer really shows the innocence of children, just playing with each other having fun. Regardless of each others race or faith. Oblivious to the problems and shadows of the 'adult world'
Same, its legit my favorite music album of all time. So many underlying themes, connections to religion, his upbringing, the elite-level lyricism throught, very diverse and tasteful instrumentals, how the sound & subject matter progressively changes per season...there is SO much to it.
@@ptrcrispy Incredibly well said. I have not found anything close to this album in the slightest. This is the greatest album of all time. I am a huge Fort Minor fan, Joyner Lucas, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, etc.. They have some classic story telling songs but T&Y has the best song list of all time. All unique in their own way, practically all the instrumentals are good and melodic (which is always unusual for most albums), and the more and more you listen to a song the more double entendres and hidden meanings you can pick out. This isn't some sort of pseudo art. I think most of rap is not art. This album is the exception. This really is the greatest album of all time dude and I am happy someone finally agrees with me!
Quint, do these next please!: Joey Bada$$ - B4.DA.$$ Kid Ink - Full Speed Big Sean - Dark Sky Paradise (Feb 24) And Kendrick might be dropping this month or early next month so do that obviously
No bull but when I first heard the album I didn't get past track 2 aka Mural for an entire week. Then I was blown away by the rest of the album of course but Mural is in another stratosphere as far as songs go in any genre. Insane
T&Y>Lasers version we didn't hear>The Cool>F&L according to Lupe and F&L ll is the album Lupe says to listen to if you really want to understand who Lupe is.
Well lupe wanted to dropped a cd called "l-u-p-end" after the cool then retire but Atlantic had other plans. Basically anything from lasers to food & liquor 2. So it goes food & liquor, the cool, and now tetsuo & youth were lupe's only real albums. You can't rush art.
Ayesha Jaco is the person who did the intro on Food & Liquor 2 by reading off a poem about modern issues. She fulfills a similar role on Tetsuo & Youth, which is a really cool callback in my opinion.
Good shit Q this is the one I was waiting for you did it again brotha! Still listening to this shit it slapsssss for real. Ahead of its time on so many levels. Salute.
i dont know if u knew this, but Australia has a hip hop genre. U should do a first reaction of an album by the kings of Aussie hip hop. listen to 'Walking Under Stars' By 'Hilltop Hoods'
Every country got a Rap Genre but maaan here in Kuwait, Rap is ffffucked up, all what they care about is beefs, beefs and fucking beefs, I swear I never heard a fucking proper song nnnnever ever, and the image of the rapper is fucked up too, if you a rapper you then you probably you smoke weed, have aids, friends with ISIS or some fucked up shit
All Lupe fans say the same thing. Food & Liquor is great, The Cool is great. Lasers should have never happened. And F&L2 is a mixed reaction. But let's be real here, ALL rap fans believe the same thing.
He said in an interview that he took breaks in between the song until he got inspired and came back to the booth and added more the reason people misinterpret this as a freestyle is because he also mentioned that sometimes he went off the top for a couple bars
If yall want to know the breakdown for this album, I went over the inner meaning and purpose as well as an analysis of the album forwards and even backwards. Check it out and tell me what you think. It's truly a masterpiece. genius.com/By-harnoor-singh-detailed-explanation-of-lupe-fiascos-tetsuo-and-youth-winter-to-spring-and-beyond-lyrics
