Tbh Jiren was still stronger than MUI Goku. The fact why goku was temporarily stronger than jiren is because of the rage boost he gained after jiren attacked his friends. Without Rage boost goku would have lost even in his MUI state.

Thats true! Jiren even refused to fight Goku before he got UI because he felt that Goku was too weak. If Jiren wanted to, he could've won the tournament in a minute. Just shows what a menace he is.

Even with the MUI, Goku still lost. He wasn't able to last as long as Jiren in battle. He tapped out and was writhing in pain while Jiren still had some gas in him. It ain't just about strength, it's also about who can use that strength for longer.
