Dang it! They left out the best part. The very last sentence in the cartoon is when the narrator says: "When are you all gonna let me out?" And you see that it has been the criminal talking the whole time.

Avery used everyone for humor. His own Texan roots here.

In case no-one else has mentioned it, I believe this cartoon was called “The First Bad Man” and is cited as inspiration for Hanna-Barbera’s hit prime-time cartoon show, “The Flintstones”. One of the background artists for their cartoon, Ed Benedict, even worked on this one. The narrator was country music star Tex Ritter. 🎞👍🏼📺💛🪨🦖🦕
