I love this. For the rude ppl taking all the way thu this, SHAME ON YOU! If you only know how much work goes into this! 8 min for you to shut up is not asking that much! These artists put hours and hours into your enjoyment!
Absolutely!! The Aggie band is pure poetry in motion - how many hours I remember practicing up and down that marching field, our band director screaming at us when we missed a step - and praising us when we got it down...it was hard work but when it was presented under those Friday night lights, we felt like we were solid gold...and the standing ovation after just made us stronger... Gd rest my old band director...we were very excited to make him proud
Just because someone spent hours and hours perfecting something doesn't mean people are required to pay you any attention. The woman in the wnba spend their entire lives playing basketball yet it's not interesting to watch. Shame on you for not watching everything every person has ever spent time to perfect.
@@rvaugh230This is a bit different I would argue… at other sporting events, CFB, NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, and WNBA included, talking, chattering, bantering, yelling, and all the likes is encouraged. At orchestral performances, ballets, classical wind concerts, Military drill reviews, and poetry recitals (see comment above saying that the FTAB is poetry in motion) talking is strictly prohibited or at the very least highly discouraged and frowned upon. This is the latter being performed on the stage of the former. The FTAB wants cheering and whooping, it is the greatest feeling in the world to be playing as loud as you can on that field and not able to hear a darn thing, but what we don’t want is chattering… we are putting on a show, not for our enjoyment, but for the audiences. As well as, many of the performers families are there to see the hard work they’ve put into it, there have been thousands of Aggie Bandsmen past who live vicariously through us student Aggies, and children or adolescents who we inspire to find their passion in music or the military. I have had countless personal experiences with all 3. We want them to enjoy the show in the moment, and whenever they want to after. While I am a rather patient person and did not mind/could ignore it, some folks just plum can’t… should they be denied the show, no. Should the folks talking be denied the show or chastised either, no. The point is, if they have enough of the Aggie spirit to come see us BTHO whoever we’re playing, then they should follow our traditions, including staying and standing during halftime and watching the Aggie band, not jappin their jaws. I apologize for the rant, however this is something I am very passionate about and do not believe that a disrespectful culture is something to be brushed off or compared to something irrelevant and outside the scope of the discussion, but rather amended and fixed in order to allow all to enjoy these wonderful performances
@@rvaugh230Also… please rewatch the beginning. This performance was dedicated to the Class of 2023… they put in more time and work than anyone will ever know and I love them dearly and will miss them when I March on that field… if folks dont have the decency to remain quiet for 8 minutes to honor their hard work and you don’t have a problem with that sir, that is not an issue with them anymore, but with you. Good evening and I hope this just broadens your perspective as to what these individuals were trying to express their displeasure with.
Forget the halftime singers at the super bowl!!! I want to see this band perform at every super bowl as this is REAL TALENT/ ENTERTAINMENT!!! I bleed BLUE (GO BLUE) but I am now also an Aggie's Band Fan!! Nice job to all involved with this Masterful production!!! KUDOS
It was impressive but worrisome. I couldn't hear the music. The 4 way cross looked like a human Confederate flag. Oh, I just googled it. That was intentional. Shame on you.
I understand the tradition is that the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band never repeats a performance. However, I do believe that an exception should be made for THIS magnificent performance. No band -- not even the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band -- has EVER equaled this half-time show. Thank you for providing this performance.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Shut up! We don't need you lecturing us or trying to recruit us. You don't know us and we aren't doing anything mean or bad. Go away, you're annoying. You think that you're Holier than the rest of us, buy you aren't.
They’re not the only band who doesn’t repeat a performance. Where I went to high school, all the area hi😢school bands learned a new March each week. Oak Cliff High School, outside of Dallas, used to DANCE when they marched! Now that’s skill! Also, great fun to watch.
Damon, that is how I became an Aggie fan ! I went to the 1986 Cotton Bowl game (I went each year no matter who played) to see Bo Jackson play. While I actually was planning to pull for Auburn my ticket was smack in the middle of thousands of Aggies. By half-time I was hooked on what I had experienced all around me. When the game was over I wanted to know everything about Texas A&M. Those years that the Aggies weren't at the Cotton Bowl were so boring; nothing special. I agree with you that an Aggie game is something to witness in person.
I didn’t realize the band didn’t repeat a performance. It takes tremendous practice to get one routine down per season. This is incredible. It’s too bad the rude people who talked constantly in the background missed it.
To the person or team that choreographs these drills - WELL DONE! I’ve done that in the past & it is very challenging & rewarding. To all of the participants - OMG!!! The hours spent memorizing & practicing these drills is a HUGE commitment & your work is paying off. The precision shown throughout this drill is terrific! Most folks have no idea what a challenge it is to accomplish what you have done. Those that direct this are doing an amazing job & I give you a round of applause for a job well done.
I'm a Seattle, WA band mom But must say this is the most incredible marching band I've ever seen. Totally tops Superbowl shows! I'm asking Santa for a bigger TV to watch them better! 😊
Oh man.....Ive never seen such choreography, movements perfection, all rolled into one. Superb and visually stunning from a Pennsylvanian. Even though Im a big Tennessee and North Carolina fan,I think Im an Aggie fan too now!!
During the cross a band member drops his hat. At 5:33 you can see the cap on the feild in the ‘V’ above the ‘M’ near mid feild. At 5:56 a band member kicks the cap onto the ‘M’. Later at 7:20 another band member kicks it again and flips it up in the air and lands it right side up. At 8:24 you can still see the cap on the feild, however when the shot panes right at 8:44 the cap is gone. I think this because at 8:31 in the very upper right corner someone dressed in white pants and blue jacket runs onto the feild to retrieve it.
I miss those half-time shows we got to see years ago. Why do we need to watch and listen to commentators discuss the first half after we just watched it? To me it only seems right that band members get their half-time performance aired on TV as members of the school and for all of the time, dedication, and work they have done to be on the field. They really need to go back to showing the bands again on tv.
This is fantastic‼️❤️👏 This type of representation makes for an excellent display of American culture and I hope the band has been sent overseas to perform. These students clearly have earned the right to represent the US and be its cultural ambassador. Congratulations 2023 seniors‼️❤️👏🌍♥️
This performance is just amazing! Playing your music and staying in sync with the rest of the band members is just amazing! The hours of practicing they must have had just to get this far!
@@fancy39 I wouldn’t classify certain bands above others. I wouldn’t put OSU over A&M but I wouldn’t put A&M over OSU. It goes the same with any college band compared to a drum corps. These bands have amazing traditions and serve different purposes. Texas A&M serves as a representation of clean military drill and precision. Ohio State shows more picture-form show design. Either way you have it, this is all opinion based. There can be some subjectivity to it, but in the end it’s musicianship and artistic quality that we should just learn to appreciate no matter who is performing.
So much dedication ❣️We should see during half time. This is wrong not to show like they use too. Young ppl need to see. Great Job to all band members!! Keep it up! Parents should continue to voice the need for young children at home watch. These half time shows that boot out these young people is sad and wrong. They have practice for hours And years ❣️❣️❣️❤️🙏🇺🇸❤️
@@fancy39 And never repeat the same performance, and change it for every game. Hate if you want to but they change it up all the time and still nail it
Totally amazing,, a lot of hard work by the band members and their director... Makes one wonder just how in the hell do they choreograph the maneuvers. Blows my mind.. Congratulations to all who work on these performances.. May God bless and protect Aggie Land.
The camera is amazing. Love the clarity. Love this band! But the constant chatter ruined the entire viewing experience. Could not hear the band very well at all.
@@fancy39 And I've noticed that you, fancy, can only write one reply. You just keep repeating it over and over and over. The Aggie Band changes it's performance every time, never repeats.
This is only part of it. Watching them and the Corp of Cadets marching to Kyle field is great. The is the best military band I’ve ever watched. The four way cross is amazing. You figure any moment someone will trip or have a huge collision. I’ve never seen them in person and it’s kind of on my bucket list but at my age I don’t get around so good any longer and don’t think I could make the walk from parking to the stadium.
Please don't bash my comment. My daughter is a graduate of Texas A&M class of 2016. She recently found out that I am her birth mother. When I mentioned that I am a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, we both made a mutual agreement that we both would listen to each other's bands. Honestly, from this Buckeye fan's point of view, your school band is very very talented. Please don't think any less of this fan.
I once travelled from college station to baton rougue to wittness this spectacle. Remember, not one person in the LSU stands out of a 1000 were sober enough to stand up and count to 5. The Texas AMC Band a spiritual experience with a little music thrown in. I still prefer "the spirit of aggieland" to the war hyme. But it 'll do
