Airbnb does not care about the safety of their hosts or really they don’t give a s*** about either the guests or the hosts safety. The reason this isn’t more publicized is because of the waiver Airbnb makes you sign both as a host and a guest stating you will not discuss anything like this that happens with any media.
Airbnb isn’t to blame or the hosts of these events. Short term rentals for most have to pass a background check. And if there’s any criminal activity for sure it’s reported to the authorities. This can happen anywhere because the justice system isn’t taking action on this situation.
