Texas Bowl: LSU vs. Kansas State | Full Game Highlights 

As a lifelong LSU fan, and surrounded by them, we all knew we were losing that game in our situation but no one wanted to not have that game played. K-State played a helluva game and we got some young guys and walk ons some reps who may never get another bowl game shot. It was hard to watch as an LSU fan, but then I just reminded myself that they didn't quit or back out like Texas A&M 😂. Good game guys.

Texas A&M had around the same amount of players & chose not to play. Shout out to LSU for keeping it about the players. Much Respect

@@dweez4703 Yeah, LSU wasn't gonna be like A&M and quit 10 days out when the CDC guideline was 5 days. Aggy blamed theirs on covid. Our guys either opted out for the combine, transferred, or were hurt. lol. Gonna be a long total rebuild that's for sure. Coach O, as great of a cajun representative as he was and as great as 2019 was, let the train run off the tracks after January 2020. K-State played lights out. I'm just glad Kirkland got to throw a few touchdowns as a qb in college.

i wouldn't feel bad about this defeat at all, if i were a LSU fan. these kids did their best, didn't give up. many were playing their first college game and had key pieces out on both sides of the football. jontre's performance was respectable considering his disadvantages, LSU players played with pride and you love to see that.

There were more 4 star recruits on this backup squad than KSU has had in the last 5 years.

With a 6-7record for the year. It doesn’t look like they showed up all season.

@@gnd144 Not an LSU fan by any means. Missed and "bump-off" (hit stick fail) tackling is a real issue across all of college football. It's gotten to the point where it drives me bonkers even when my team isn't playing. I think guys are just getting weaker mentally/physically. Go find some 2005-2010 CFB on RU-vid and you'll see.

With that, they didn't have many backups to sub out anyone and with basketball players don't only play on one side of the ball. But that's besides what I was getting at in the first place, I thought it was interesting that both games were played on the same day and with both teams having a similar issue.

Calm down with that greatest team in college football history, they were not wildly considered that. They were probably top 5 offenses of all time. But they were not balanced and insanely stacked like 05 Texas, 05 USC, 01 Miami and late 90s Nebraska.

Other than last year, we have always had a great line... I remember back in 98' the ONLY football team in the nation that was bigger than K-State we're the Jacksonville Jaguars. And you are correct they do not get enough praise, they are the foundation of the football team to give time, create opportunity, wear down the defense and control the clock.

I was just thinking that. If K-State can play like this next season that would be good times. Win the Big 12 and get a playoff bid.

Lsu didn't have a qb, and as far as sec vs big 12 goes the sec leads the all time series. They've also won 60% of the championships in the last 2 decades. Safe to say they aren't worried about the big 12. And arkansas played Texas in the regular season and that didn't turn out too good.

This year, yes. Auburn played for two titles since 2000. LSU played for four. Florida played for three. Georgia played for one. Alabama played for seven. Tennessee won one title in 1998? No, the wealth is spread pretty well, but not this year.

Why? Because money more than skill runs this sport..... Alabama makes it in 2011 despite being a blatant contradiction of 2006. Did it matter that OSU and Boise State had better offenses? No. OSU lost late so that was the excuse given, and Boise State apparently was never good enough because even though they won 95% of their games in 5 years (AN ALL TIME NCAA FEAT), went undefeated against the P5, had 11 NFL players, had a Top 10 ALL TIME college QB, and beat the f&ck out of a ranked SEC team they were still not good enough somehow..... Nah your conference got the benefit of always making the championship in an era full of controversial seasons

Any college football fan knows that ESPN owns the SEC and gets most of the money. ESPN DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO KILL THE BIG12. Wait and see what happens when the BIG 12 conference takes over VEGAS because we’re coast to coast. Next 5 years the B12 will be the premier conference.

jaray jenkins started at wr he was a 3 star player number 448 in his class jack mashburn started at tight end he was a walk on and unranked cam wire at left tackle was a 3 star number 428 in his class liam shanahan at center was a transfer from harvard he was unranked our quarterback was literally a receiver he was a 3 star athlete number 667 in his class at nickel pig cage was a walk on transfer from nichols he was a 3 star number 1710 in his class at corner darren evans was another transfer from nichols who was unranked not to mention we had no depth because we only had 38 scholarship players we didnt have a quarterback most of the coachign staff had moved on so we were mostly rolling with analysts and a lot of thehighly ranked guys were true freshmen who hadnt really played meaningful snaps before corey kiner at runningback darius magee at corner greg penn at linebacker chris hilton at wr k state had a full coaching staff most of their roster and proven players with lots of experience so no k state does not have much to be proud of

K-State's 2nd and 3rd string running backs both entered the transfer portal so it wasn't just an LSU problem.
