We anticipate hurricane watches, storm surge watches, and tropical storm watches will be issued for parts of the Texas Gulf Coast later today. Please follow the advice of local officials regarding any evacuation information.
Baldy, I live near DFW airport. If you need a ride from the airport to your destination just let me know. I have a nice van with room for you and your belongings. It would be my pleasure.
Hurricanes. in the Gulf of Mexico, have turned North for decades. Something in the design of the Gulf, the North American Continent, and the behavior of upper level wind currents, seems to be a mystery, as we now see it.
🇺🇸👍.... Harlingen Texas.... We are in a drought.. had to install sprinklers for the cattle... We definitely need this rain I hope it gets here we will deal with whatever comes with it 'we need the water
As a Corpus Christi, TX resident, I appreciate the no-nonsense forecast, keeping it to what 'we know at this time' approach. Subscribed to the channel and liked this video. Thank you!
@@SaltySouthTexan I just want it so bring us rain in central texas. It won't do that if it goes toward htown. We have needed rain for quite a while in the hill country. Lake Travis has been at 40% full for years.
Rain in July is always welcome!! Beryl tracking into Central Texas would be a blessing. That country is bone dry. Medina, Buchanan and Canyon Lakes are in dire need of rains.
More rains, less golf courses, and suburban developments. Between Lake Buchanan, and Lake Travis there is 58 golf courses. Ain’t that some 💩? Our old house was the first one built in Bee Cave’s Falconhead suburb back in early 2000s. Our house had 5 bathrooms, and irrigation. Ever since then. The more houses that went up, the less water Lake Travis, and Pacebend Park had. You should google how much water a golf course use each year. Then multiply it by 58. Then add up all the lawns, and houses, with irrigation, and 4-5-6 bathrooms. You should see how many light bulbs it takes to light up these new million dollar suburban homes too. Talk about our Texas electric grid struggles. Our old house had 16 canned lights. Just in the ceiling of our living room alone. It’s a travesty to see every hill in the Hill Country covered in houses.
@@8arrows Lawn culture is such nonsense. So many better native groundcover options, some of which don't even grow high enough to need mowing. Heck, if we could get past our obsession with grass lawns, the golf courses wouldn't be nearly as big a problem. (But holy moly, that's a lot of golf courses! o_o )
@@quiestinliteris there is 907 listed courses in Texas. Not listed are unaccounted for. But some ranchers have their very own courses. No members, nor public allowed. Here in America, there is over 17,000 golf courses listed. Public, and private clubs. That’s over 3,400 more courses, than America has McDonald’s.
Y'all are like the firemen of meteorology: you rush in, when the rest of us are running away or hunkering down. I pray for safe travels for you, and your team as you all move into position. I don't have the words to thank you, for the amazing job you do to keep things REAL, but not in panic mode. Oh, and I kinda like the map background.
Yep, we're in our 3rd year of this drought! I live in a little lake town on the North side of Lake Travis, and honestly, I haven't even SEEN the lake up here for 2 years. It's gone. It's just all dried up! But I know it will be back. Is THIS the year it comes back?? MAYBE SO!!! Even tho we definitely don't want anyone on the coast to suffer any hardship from this weather event, I can't help but get excited to have the heavens open up and just gift us with as much water as possible!!! And I'm not going to apologize for being happy about RAIN!!! Travis is only ⅓ full. Which means we can take ANY amount of flash flooding, (we're used to it!) and probably STILL need MORE to fill the lake! (There's SO MANY people living here now (looking at you Austin 👀❗️) that the amount of water being used out of Travis is just astounding.) It's going to take more than one hurricane to bring us back up to anything close to "normal" lake levels! I know we're not the only ones who have been SO DRY! Flash Floods, or Drought Conditions- It's just the norm for all of us here in Central Texas. Just about everyone over here in The Hill Country, North to South, and East to West, has been suffering the lack of rain. So yeah- Bring It On Home Beryl !!! 💦 👍🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧👍 ALL of Central Texas is waitin for ya with open arms!!! We're READY!!!
I was a part of the NWS Corpus Christi briefing for Emergency Managers for Hurricane Harvey. We were initially told Harey would be a Cat 1 worst case scenario Cat 2. I hope they're right this time.
Morning David Reimer 😊 hoping and praying 🙏 that you have a flight ✈️ back. Thank you for the updates. I appreciate it always. I will keep a watch out for it. And yes, everything will be okay, doky. Lol 😂 God bless your family, the people that you work with, and your listeners too 🙏 I pray for their safety. Have a blessed day, take care ❤ everyone 😊.
Thanks confirming what I thought since it was out close to Jamaica. Just a thing I do that freaks people out. I even foretold my mom's death. She passed a day before my birthday.
David, Getting Ready For Hurricane 🌀 Beryl. I stationed in Raymondville Tx. God 🙏🏽 Is Good! We could all make it through this. You David, Keep Us Up To Date. 👋🏽👍🏽🌧️🌀🌡️
@@markbeames7852 Hi Mark! Thank you so much! It actually helps push our video out to more people so we can get our information out to them. It’s all about the algorithm!
PRAY PEOPLE. DECLARE AND DECREE THAT FATHER GOD IS IN CONTROL AND IF WE PRAY, IN FAITH BELIEVING, THAT THIS STORM IS VOID OF ANY FURTHER DAMAGE OF ANY KIND, IT WILL BE DONE.....AMEN !...
@@sonyaweakley4440 @keliana4108....REMEMBER...God is in control of EVERYTHING. HE ALLOWS ALL THINGS. WE MAY NOT KNOW WHY, BUT, HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US. BLESSINGS.
David, so proud for you and your team! Your channel just keeps growing ❤ be safe traveling back to our great state! Thank you immensely for all your work! Much love from Midway, Brazos Valley
I've been in several bad hurricanes growing up in S FL and then here Honestly I would rather go through another Hurricane Andrew in Miami than a hurricane Ike in Houston. They can't handle hurricanes here. They could barely handle a tropical storm. Heck one time we had a flooded freeway from a water main burst when there wasn't a cloud in the sky. And Harvey wasn't even a direct here and some folks are still recovering from flood damage. Thank goodness for this channel! And a local weather forum I have followed for about 10 years now. Broadcast news is useless. I miss Dr. Neil Frank. Thank you for all your work here!! Wishing you safe travels back to Texas.
It rained in Dallas Texas earlier today. But the rain seemed like it was coming down with lots of splashes It was very white and kind of foggy outside. Wondering if it has something to do with cloud seeding. 🤷 . It just seems unnormal.
It's all going to depend on what happens between Saturday 1pm and Sunday 1am. The model shows it bending south a little, and I'm not sure that will happen.
I like the storm coverage on this site. Thank you for not forecasting the end of the world with this coming storm like all the local mainstream media weather hacks. Thank you for not running around, screaming with your hair in fire! Sorry. I couldn’t resist. 🤦♂️
I was looking at the key at 4:30 but didn't see what the differences between S, D and H are on the Beryl tracking. I'm sure H is for Howdy, S for Spiny Spiny and D for Doom Doom? :)
Keep up the great work and thanks for everything you do. It's a small world I am also sitting here on the east coast in the same general area you just mentioned visiting family for vacation. Just not directly on the beach. Keeping an eye on your forecasts since we love just south of Houston towards the coast.
We sure don't need any rain in central east Texas. My goodness. This is not good news Baldy. But nothing we can do except enjoy the lower temps for a while. Thank you for all the information! You enjoy the remainder of your vacay!! Safe travels to you also! God bless!
If everyone in East Texas takes a deep breath and all exhale at once and push it to Central Texas, we would be appreciative. 😂 We need rain so bad. We have been drier than average for like 2 years
@texasweathercenter how long lasting are the effects of the hurricane? I am supposed to go to Rockport on vacation beginning Tuesday. I understand the hurricane will make landfall Sunday night into Monday, but will the rain, flooding, dangerous swimming conditions, etc. persist for the rest of the week or only perhaps through Tuesday and Wednesday? I am unfamiliar with hurricanes and I’m trying to decide if I need to cancel my trip if the whole week will be a washout or we will be unlikely able to swim safely. Appreciate your reply so much. Not sure where to go for answers.
The 3 MAJOR FACTORS of s hurricane over open water ; BAROMETRIC PRESSURE - WATER TEMPERATURE - SPEED OF MOVEMENT . All have to do with how big a storm can / will get ...
Does hurricane Sandy and hurricane Beryl share similar characteristics? Sandy slammed the eastern United States as a combination hurricane/nor'easter/winter storm. Beryl will strike Texas (somewhere) as storms are coming from the north….just wondering🤔
David, praying for good weather coming back to DFW. COME HOME. REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THURS. FORCAST. WE DO NOT NEED RAIN IN DFW OR EAST, TX. YES, PRAYING FOR SOUTH AND COAST. IN THE 50'S WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, WE LIVED ON TAMPA. FL. FOR 6 YRS. OFF BASE ON TAMPA BAY, THERE WAS NEVER A HURRICANE. WHAT IS HARD TO BELIEVE, IS HOW FL. IS STILL😮 ATTACHED TO US. UNBELIEVABLE IN POPULATION. 1 HIGHWAY TOP TO BOTTOM. NO. I LIKE NE AND 30 EAST TX. NOT GOING ANYWHERE. IF YOU LIVE AT SEA LEVEL, WELL, THEN, YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT CAN HAPPEN. FREE WILL. YOU REALLY HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WHERE YOU SHOULD LIVE, NOT AT SEA LEVEL. LOVE BEACHES. HAVE BERN TO GALVESTION 1X. STILL, EXPERIENCE SHOULD GIVE YOU WISDOM. TX DOES NOT HAVE FLOOD INSURANCE. SO, PRAYING IT ALL JUST DISAPATES. GOD CAN DO ANYTHING. BLESSINGS 😊
I'm worried for my cousin Leo and his live-in girlfriend Loraine. They're re-roofing their house in Floresville and it could sustain some serious water damage. All that beautiful French Colonial furniture they just purchased!
8:00 i have re-listened numerous times and I cannot figure out if you are saying “we are (NOT) talking about a Harvey level event” or if you’re saying “we are (NOW) talking about a harvey level event”
