Texas Governor Says He Has the 'Receipts' to Prove Biden Never Called After Beryl

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, says President Joe Biden never called after Hurricane Beryl hit his state. Biden said he had trouble tracking down Abbott to free up emergency funds. Abbott says that's not true. “You would think that if a president were to make an attack like that on a governor, he would have the receipts to prove it,” Abbott told Bloomberg's Julie Fine.

@@damiantoth8577 not much, but their chaebols want the profits from tax free Texas land on which they will have cheap labor manufacture under weak environmental standards. Texas really only taxes land and minor transactions.

Governor of Texas is in Europe or where ever (not in the country) while a natural disaster hits the State. But hey, why let that effect your business, send your even more incompetent Lt. Governor to handle it. Then blame the Federal Gov. for not getting your relief immediately. Texas gets what it richly deserves.

I’m so sick of this guy. We have been through enough. We were told a tropical storm. This mess was more than that. God is good despite this dictators lack of leadership. Thank God we have a generator. My whole family is at my house. This mess with us not being linked to the rest of the US grid is nuts. The wind barely moved and we lose lights. We’re tired.

He also has not done anything about the Texas grid that cannot seem to keep folks lights on during a Tropical storm. Not a word about upgrading the grid since the infamous Texas Freeze that claimed People’s lives. Biden is Federal ; Abbott is State . Just say you love Abbott because he is Trump’s boi’ ; but don’t get on here projecting false narratives against Biden as a result. Be true to yourself.

That included 500,000 meals and 800,000 liters of water that were "ready to distribute at the state's request," FEMA officials said in a statement Monday. @nooneinparticular4895 In order to pay for FEMA orders, the president must declare a disaster and activate federal services. This is typically done through a special phone line that connects governors directly to the White House.

FYI; FEMA was in Texas days before the storm hit, making preparations, knowing it was coming. And by the way, it's up to the Governor to ask the President for Federal help, not the other way around. In Ohio, Governor DeWine initially refused Federal help. In spite of that, following the derailment, FEMA was there practically before the sun came up, providing immediate technical and operational assistance to EPA, Federal partners and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, including providing incident management expertise and community outreach support to the multi-agency response and recovery effort. In Maui, more than 150 FEMA personnel, were deployed. including search and rescue teams to help residents register for assistance and address any critical needs in the affected neighborhoods. I have to say it gets very tiring listening to you whiners complain about the Federal Government all the time, and then come running when you need help.
