The 'ordering tap water'-thing in restaurants is that most of those places don't earn much from selling the food itself. Missing out on that revenue from your drink costs them money, the profit-margin on drinks is usually higher than on the food (food: high costs for ingredience and preparation, low profit - drink: low costs, decent profit). Thats why you get sparkly water usually, and even if you want 'still' it will be bottled water.
I am from Amarillo, TX and will be in Deggendorf in 3 weeks haha. That makes two of us. Honeymooning for 11 days in eastern Europe and we are staying one night here.
@@manne8575 It was great! I got a parking ticket in Deggendorf because I could not read the signs haha, it was a beautiful little city. Europe was fantastic. I even ate at one of the places in this video.
@@Theultrazombiekiller Awesome, happy to hear that man! I am from Deggendorf myself, was born there. It's a rather unknown town so it's great to see when people from far away visit it. You're welcome here anytime again. And sorry about the ticket haha, it happens bro.
The reason for the water thing is very simple. ln the us the service people get payed with tip. ln germany the owner payed the sercive people. So you have to pay for the water because the sercive people work for you. And someone have to pay the water from the store. ;-)
@@Skyl3t0n ln germany or what do you mean? l think the quality (plus the personal costs ...) of the food and products is way higher in germany as in the fat und sugary us. So the food and drinks cost more than in the us.
