Even more ironic is that your name is Mike and your surname is Scott. Texas being a Scottish band ! I would like to share with you the summer of 1989 I was in Fresno, California. . I had the Texas debut album called Southside on a Walkman tape (remember those ) and some USA friends heard I don't want a lover.. they loved every track literally fighting amongst themselves to who could keep the cassette tape. Texas have just toured the UK to mark 30 years and 90 million records sold. I have uploaded a few of the concerts and in particular there is a very special gig in Glasgow in the very same studios of the first Texas release.. and Sharleen Spiteri loosing her balance ending up on the floor. Everyone was laughing with her and not at her !

Agreed, brings back very happy memories. All these singles got so much air play back in the day. When they had their come back with this album they were huge. They’re a really tight band, wonderful live and Shar was always so beautiful, intelligent and charismatic.

For me & my group of friends this song was, & still is, meaningful for the loss of my best friend Sarah. She'd died in the late spring of 97 after a failed heart & lung transplant at age 25. Her halo glowed from the inside out. Full of life & laughter, had anyone met her at that time they'd have been surprised to learn how ill she was. She really was so full of life & laughter. Unfortunately Princess Di's untimely death hardly penetrated the grief I was already lost in. I remember the shock of it, the sadness for Wills & Harry, but I was still locked in the loss of the best friend I'd ever had, & was to ever have that nothing much else managed to get through that grief & the brick wall I had around me at that time. Harder to comprehend was the fact that my friends death came almost exactly one year after her eldest brothers death of the same disease. Still miss her.
