Great player, great person. Thank you, thank you, thank you Mario Diaz for taking the Miami job! We are so lucky to have young men like Kelvin Banks, Jr in this program. How is it possible not to love the Horns?
Glad J Hills said it. SEC has always been top heavy. Big 12 has more quality depth across the board. Big 12 also has more quality coaches and more schemes. I mean... if A&M can go into the SEC and have more success there than they did in the B12... kinda tells you.
How exactly did A&M have more success in the SEC? No conference championships, no playoff appearances, and an almost identical win percentage even while playing a lot more cupcakes out of conference than they did in the Big 12.
They certainly it started off better in the SEC for a few years than they had experienced in the B12. But you're kind of making my point... they did either better or the same. Meaning that the B12 was as challenging as the SEC. They haven't fared any WORSE in the SEC is the actual point I guess. If anything they've done the same or better. As will the Horns. But we aren't Aggies so we'll be just fine. And if anything, I think we'll surprise the SEC.
I'm not a very optimistic or pessimistic person by nature, I don't buy into the hype that a lot of people get during pre-season. I try to be realistic. No matter how good a team, chemistry, injuries, off-field drama can always derail you. The only season I KNEW beforehand we were going to be great was 2005, which was kind of a no-brainer. But this year I'm feeling kind of like that year. I don't think we just surprise the SEC, I think we take our place at the top of it. And players like Kelvin are the reason why. @@GerrysJackLinks
