I ordered a new 7 x 14 x 3 20k Texas Pride gooseneck dumptrailer about 3 weeks ago & just picked it up feb 21 2023 , lots of upgrades, 3/16 floor, 3/16 walls, 12 inch on center cross members, 10 inch channel neck & uprights instead of their standard 8 inch, full 8 ft long neck , dual hydraulic jacks, no texas pride decals mostly so I have the best real estate options on the side of the trailer for my own decals, and because I knew a lot of additional welding is going to take place later adding more options, would just burn the decals off, its not 100% perfect but for the cost, I believe I got a whole lot of "value" Texas pride manufactures a good product, I think they are set up well with good shop and lot of resources, but you need to be very precise with them and don't hit the go button when ordering, until your sure everything is close as possible to what you want, watch lots of you tube videos, look at trailers locally, get the order process started and think it over for at least a week after that, and watch even more videos do more research, ask more questions, talk to other dealers, pick everyone's brain till it hurts and stay in contact with your sales person, you will come up with changes that you don't just want but require! this goes the same for anytime you order a trailer from any manufacture, I've Owned and still own a lot of trailers, most the time a trailer as it sits on someones sales lot does not check all the boxes for me at all, I would customize any trailer I bought because no one builds exactly what I want right down to the T , so after months of research and watching lots of content from channels like Dirt Monkey and Big Truck Big Rv among others, and all the dump trailer torture test, I decided to start with this platform right here.. don't mind putting it out there I paid $15,725.00 for the trailer and spent about 350.00 on the trip down there to pic it up including a room for one night at the days inn in Madisonville, Tx, and that was a decent place to stay with a very decent included breakfast..look for my short video on the room..
Also I'm going to make a video on how to order a trailer while being sure they understand right down to the nearest 1/2 inch exactly what adjustment range you need on the coupler, I think I covered that well enough but I can see where a better more precise "Tow vehicle dimensions sheet" could be important and I'm going to design one and share it .. its difficult with all these newer trucks sitting so tall, after year 2000 or so most gooseneck manufactures changed their specs and went to a taller neck, goosenecks before the year 2000 used to have about 63 inches to the bottom of the neck rail, now they are mostly 67 inches or more to clear the bed sides on these taller trucks with deeper bedsides, there is a lot to be aware of to get exactly what you really want & need
I don't pull with anything newer than a 2003 truck and likely never will, I don't care for the newer trucks and all their computer and emissions reliability issues, the 1996 & 1997 Cummins 12 valve is the best engine ever built on the planet and every 3/4 & one ton ton truck in the world should still contain one today as far as I'm concerned.
