TXSU has an amazing flag core. They performed really well with the music. Love how they welcomed the dancers onto the field who did an amazing job dancing in such a tight space.
The Ocean sound and looks DEEP! I like the numbers ... looking like the mid 2000s. Motion did great as well. Can't wait to see what's in store for us in this new season. Everything is bigger in TX heaux! 😂
From what I could see/hear TxSU got some good stuff going, keep in mind the type of stadium and acoustics sound is gonna bounce. Motion, definitely a talented group!, Very technical and advanced choreography, they were clean for the majority lets be CLEAR, lots of ripples and technique, also great recovery in the back from one of the ladies during a turn, I wanna see this routine again definitely after a good first pass of it here.
They had uniform issues. But they were solid. Sound was on point. Their harmonies, etc were on fire. Idk why people keep up the "it's a jukebox copy", they literally did mlre than one drill that the Jukebox doesn't do. Smh the first drill is on old 1970s pictures of the Ocean. Nobody says FAMU Patterns in Motion drills are copycat so why is this the narrative with the Ocean? I don't get it. The hate is too real.
The drill was cool, but I was honestly distracted by the twirler dropping the baton with every toss. The drum majors were really fun to watch and reminded me of an HBCU version of the Aggie DMs at Texas A&M. The band sounded okay, and the ballad was good. I'm not particularly a fan of the "dance-twirly" flag lines; I prefer the more Norfolk-Bethune style or NCA&T, so the flags here really didn't hold my attention. The dancers were AMAZING! I'm shocked that all 16 of those girls danced as one; the precision was next level! The band dance was mostly "blah" for me. Apart from the dancers, nothing really "wowed" me with this band. They were good, but just that-good. It was a good performance. Meh.. ❤🇺🇸
@@sordidC I don’t know why PEOPLE LIKE YOU think I have a reason to LIE on a goddamn twirler. First drop at 1:38, second drop at 1:47, third drop at 1:54. I missed one in between, but what does it matter? LIKE I SAID: I was honestly distracted by the twirler dropping the baton with every toss.
The word you said when you tried to tear her down was EVERY. We know you're somewhat illiterate but again she didn't drop EVERY TOSS. @snobbypolitics7792
@@snobbypolitics7792and idk why PEOPLE LIKE YOU have the same bs to harp on on every single Ocean of Soul video. Or why PEOPLE LIKE YOU don't have your own Ocean of Soul to occupy that negativity you have in you "snobby" lil chest.😂😂
@@sordidC No, I am not "illiterate" at all. I'm not sure if you really want to use that word there. I'm not blind either. First, you said I was exaggerating; I gave you time stamps. Now you're saying I'm "illiterate," and she didn't drop every toss. Sir-ma'am, I think you should rewatch the clip; she dropped every damn toss. Beyond that, I'm done entertaining your silliness about a TWIRLER! Your REAL issue is with her, not me. Get over it! 😂🇺🇸❤
@@TayyTwista yea you can shut the hell up too, nobody said it had to be a difficult routine but this was definitely super lazy for it to be a battle of the bands, but I guess ppl can’t speak their opinions on here without you hoes getting butthurt lmaoo
All yawl on here got something to say about the Ocean but yawl came here and we definitely understand. Pv , SU , yawl on the Clock pay attention to your own band.
^^^ MY GOODNESS! after waiting all of the off-season for this dynamic 2024 PEPSI NATIONAL BOTB competition, i must honestly state that i'm a bit disappointed. heck, last season's OCEAN of SOUL performance (at this burgeoning and renowned event) with a much smaller band... was much more PRECISE/DYNAMIC and the overall SOUND POWER was definitely on point. this season's group sounded as though they are all trying to get over COVID-19. spacing with the TUBA'S was a bit glaring... what was with those strange CIRCLES?... and why did they stay in them for soooooo long?... the WAVES really need to practice more, they seemed quite lethargic and stoic at times. however, i am a bit encouraged and overjoyed with the new numbers of this season's OCEAN. i'm thinking that they just need a bit more time to get used to GROWTH and DYNAMISM. (it's all about creating a new and everlasting CULTURE) once this occurs, it shall be OVER FOR THE REST. go OCEAN... i'm with you all of the way! GO TIGERS!♥🌊🎵🔔🔥
@@MsElleDElle ^^^ what's your point? everyone of these participating marching bands harbored "FRESHMEN". yet, SOUTHERN JUKE BOX was simply OUTSTANDING. (PRECISION... PROJECTION... SHARPNESS... SOUND POWER... ROUTINE... etc...) i am a BIG...BIG... BIG... fan of the OCEAN of SOUL. i always want them to do well and SUCCEED, especially, since I went to TSU in the early eighties. the OCEAN is not a high school organization. (therefore, "TO WHOM MUCH is GIVEN... MUCH is EXPECTED".) we should all harbor GREAT EXPECTATIONS for the OCEAN since they have one of the greatest band directors and related staff in the SWAC. as I have stated beforehand "THEY LOOKED/SOUNDED MUCH BETTER LAST SEASON with a MUCH SMALLER BAND"... period. i am a very patient individual. therefore, i am willing to present this group the BENEFIT of the DOUBT. they just have to create a NEW and EVERLASTING culture throughout their organization. this takes a bit of time. however, WE LOVE THE OCEAN and the WATER will be just fine...♥
@griffielliott279 this is literally the same style the Ocean has always had. They just came in from the sides. That isn't new for the Ocean since the 70s.
You have to make a statement coming out the gate, I remember TSU drum majors would dance coming onto the field. The drill was lackluster and ridiculous. I wanna see more innovative drills like Honda BOTB 23’. This performance left more to be desired: Motion has a viral tictok dance going around, Thee late representative Sheila Jackson-Lee passing deserved a nod for her strong support of TSU, You have a new TSU president, The Presidential Election, NBOTB 10th Anniversary. There was so much to pull from to make a quality showcase. Creatively speaking I’m the most disappointed. Quit trying to Not be SU and Be TSU. Let’s plan and come up with something more creative. You have the pieces, put it together. Please…. Please…. Please
With all due respect , I would compare this event to a football jamboree . Which takes place at the beginning of the school year . Sort of a grand opening display . And a teachable moment for the athletes and student performers . Now for homecomings , classics and midway to end of season performances ... . ✌️
@@dwaynedwayne8342 From my perspective if TSU is aiming at being on-par with SU and JSU there is no room for wasted performances or tune-up performances. Those aforementioned bands have multiple years of success and consistency TSU do not have. TSU can’t have it both ways, either you’re on the level of SU JSU, ASU, FAMU… etc or you’re not. My point is that they are capable of doing so, because I’ve seen it. Just need the consistency the TOP band carry-which is their power!
Call me a hater but this show was boring not to mention to much su in the field show routine I love Simmons but this wasn’t it my guy this just my opinion
Bruh. I think it's love or going get tough for the first drill then ESPN for Pepsi and give it to me baby for motion 😂😂😂. With that same drill would fit perfectly
They play PV next week so why would they come here and show their hand, these comments are just angry Southern fans that are pissed to see TXSU doing well, let it go, they did GREAT!!!
The sound is not good in this building. The acoustics are trouble. Besides TSU JSU sound off. I've never liked field shows here. Sound is all over the place. ATL or somewhere out side would better.
@@tank70g I’m from Houston so I know it’s not their stadium. The only reason I said that is because that’s where all of TSUs home games are other than Homecoming of course.
