Smoked and sliced beef chuck roast that is so good it could rival and good smoked brisket. The whole cook took about 9 hours with 30 minute rest. I really hope you give his recipe a try!

White Thunder BBQ you know whats crazy, i put a 2.25 pound chuck roast in the oven the other night for 2 1/2 hours at 360 and i swear the thing turned out absolutely amazing, medium, tender, obviously theres some fat running through it but i dont mind that, i lined a broiler pan with aluminum foil put in about a cup and a half of water with some brown gravy mix and used it as the jus, salt, course ground pepper and garlic as seasoning

Where I live, it's either prime full packer 20lbs briskets for $70 dollars or a 6lbs choice chuck roasts at the price club for $25. Easy choice for me lol

haha - choice brisket here is usually under 3 a pound. Its 7:50 in the supermarkets though. There is a local cash and carry type store where I get cheap briskets. Chuck on sale is 3.99 a lb for choice.

Killer recipe Nate, look at that smoke ring, and hickory is my fave smoking wood abundant here in ky. I have braised chuck, never smoked it. I had one of those, why didn't i think of that moments. Looks better than brisket, with the fat, fat = flavor and moistness. We would probably get kicked out of texas for saying that. On brisket, they have flat/point, burnt ends from point. Wonder if we could get burnt ends from chuck? Maybe use a mallet and flatten about one quarter of the roast at 1 end , especially if it has a thinner part at one end. It is a thought. Great idea my friend, because here chuck is inexpensive where a same size brisket per lb. Would cost 3 or more times the cost of a chuck. I almost do not want to tell anyone, if the demand gets high, so does the price. Look at brisket, butchers could not give it away yrs. Ago

How Does the meat get it spices when you rub oil on it first it’s very like you put oil on you when you’re out in the sun so nothing Penetrate your skin
@WhiteThunderBBQ
@WhiteThunderBBQ 6 лет назад
The oil acts as a binder to adhere the spices to the meat. Spices never actually penetrate the meat - they are a surface seasoning. Salt is the only one that will actually penetrate. Cheers Robert!
