Ah I remember this year, I practically worshiped both McCoy and Tebow and couldn't wait to see them face each other in the national championship. Needless to say this game dashed my hopes to see that match up.
Still get nervous when I watch this even after all this time after!! Kara Wigley TTU is a joke dude. They will never win a natty and this game was a fluke. UT played horrible and TTU still needed extreme luck to win that game. UT had the game over and dropped that INT. Plus guys like Orakpo and Quan Cosby weren’t playing that night. Everyone knows Texas got screwed out of a title shot that year. 45-35

Bad memories this day! I was already jumping up in the air celebrating while the ball was up in the air. Tough loss for us, good win for Tech, crazy year for the Big 12 that year, 3 way tie & OU let us down!!
Texas had injuries all over that field. Texas was obviously the best team in the B12 that year. Tech won Bc of some luck (dropped INT) and Bc Texas was missing players like Orakpo and Quan Cosby. TTU is a joke. They will never win a natty.
Amazing drive. The WRs did a great job of catching whatever came to them, and the QB showed amazing leadership by running the hurry-up so effectively. The deserved it. I can't lie. I got chills from watching it live.
Kind of hard to believe that Crabtree was a quarterback at Dallas Carter High School. He played recewiver for the first time last year, and now he is one of the greatest receivers in college football history.
This play DEFINES Texas Tech football history.. Sad thing? It's a regular season game. As for Texas? The play that defines Texas Football history is Vince Young to the corner over arguable the greatest college football team ever (USC 35 wins in a row, 2 consecutive national championships, and 2 Heisman winners). Good job Tech, you won a regular season game. This was 15 out of 60 times you've beat Texas. Hell of a job..
Me and my brother were watchin this game in separate rooms, and after he scored we both ran out the doors and were screamin and chest bumped each other. Best game I've seen
This play was incredible to watch. I'll never forget it. It's amazing, you pray and pray for your team to pull it off, but you rarely see it happen. Great game! Go Red Raiders!!!
And what made it sweet is i remember driving to school, and the radio some texas fan came to west texas to see the game, and he said "Whats that player yall got? Oak Tree?" and our radio host said "Na its crabtree, thats all yall r ganna see all night, the back of his jersey". And Texas fans say all the time "Crabtrees overrated, he hasnt played a REAL defence like the Texas Longhorns" and at the end when C-Tree shut the hataz up, thats what put him at the top as "THE BEST WR IN THE COUNTRY".
DAMN this game was a heartbreaker. I hurt my foot kicking a wall after this one. Austin was dead silent. The party I was at for the game was pretty intense. What a heartbreaking game in an awesome awesome year of football!

As a Tech fan, and Alum, I would have to say that UT definitely would have given Florida more of a fight then OU. OU just has a knack for losing those kind of games.
It will haunt me for the rest of my life, wanna know why. Freaking Gideon had the ball in his hands and he dropped it. Every time I see this video it makes me wanna cry the fact that this is the reason we didn't make it to the national title game.
they werent trying to push him out of bounds. that would be stupid. they were trying to keep crabtree inbounds so the clock would run out. if they pushed him out of bounds tech would have had it on the 5 yard line for a game winning field goal.
Lot of people praising Crabtree and you should. But the game should have been over with an interception with 9 seconds left. It was the easiest dolly interception possible, I could have caught the ball.
Texas's record all time against Tech: 45-15. Nah, I'm not mad. I'll take that all day. Enjoy your 25 win percentage against Texas. Nice National Championship rings though, they almost outnumber your Big 12 championships too and your Heisman winners.
